I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

THE GREAT LOVE OF OUR GOD
I NEVER GET TIRED OF WRITING ABOUT THE LOVE THAT GOD, JESUS, AND HOLY SPIRIT HAVE FOR US. DO YOU KNOW THAT THEY TRULY LOVE US? THEY ARE NOT FAR OFF IN HEAVEN WATCHING US TO SEE IF WE ARE GOING TO SIN AS SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE. THEY LOVE US BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS DID FOR US. BEFORE JESUS TOOK OUR SINS AWAY, WE COULDN'T EVEN GO STRAIGHT TO GOD IN PRAYER GOD KNOWING ALL THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, WATCHING THE REJECTION JESUS WOULD FACE, THE PAIN HE WOULD SUFFER ON THE CROSS, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN HE HAD TO TURN HIS BACK ON JESUS ON THE CROSS BECAUSE HE COULD NOT LOOK ON ALL THAT SIN. DO YOU REMEMBER THE WORDS OF JESUS, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" THEN THE BIBLE SAYS "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost." I AM SURE THAT THIS HURT MORE THAN ANY OF THE BEATINGS, THE NAILS, AND HANGING ON THE CROSS.
SOMEONE ASKED ONE TIME WHY GOD WOULD DO THIS KNOWING ALL THINGS. I BELIEVE HE DID ALL OF THIS TO HAVE SOMEONE TO LOVE AND THAT WOULD LOVE HIM BACK. OH, HE COULD HAVE MADE US ALL LIKE ROBOTS AND MAKE US LOVE HIM BUT HE GAVE US A FREE WILL SO WE COULD CHOOSE TO LOVE HIM. REVELATION 4:11 SAYS "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." WE WERE CREATED FOR HIS PLEASURE AND WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET THIS. HE WANTS TO FELLOWSHIP WITH US THROUGHOUT ETERNITY. THE DICTIONARY DEFINES ETERNITY AS "Time without beginning or end" SO, SINCE WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS ETERNITY, WE SHOULD START ACTING LIKE IT RIGHT NOW. WON'T YOU SHOW HIM THE LOVE YOU HAVE FOR HIM BY DOING WHAT HE ASK? THIS IS THE LEAST WE CAN DO.
WHEN WE THINK ABOUT JESUS' RESURRECTION, JUST THINK OF ALL THAT HE WENT THROUGH AND HE KNEW ALL OF THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HIM AND HE DID IT ANYWAY. WE KNOW HE KNEW ALL OF THIS BECAUSE HE ASKED GOD THREE TIMES THAT IF THERE WAS ANOTHER WAY, TAKE THAT CUP AWAY FROM HIM. THIS IS WHAT HE PRAYED IN THE GARDEN IN MATTHEW 26 "And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words." THINK ABOUT THIS LOVE EVERY DAY AND SHOW HIM YOU LOVE HIM BY DOING WHAT HE COMMANDS. JUST REMEMBER THESE WORDS OF HIS FOUND IN JOHN 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
