I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD
BELIEVING IS ONE OF THE MAIN THEMES OF THE BIBLE AND WE MUST BELIEVE TO RECEIVE. IT IS A MYSTERY TO ME WHY SOME BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIANS DON'T BELIEVE IN ALL OF GOD'S WORD. THEY WANT TO PICK AND CHOOSE THE THINGS THEY WANT TO BELIEVE. THIS IS SOMETHING WE JUST CAN'T DO. THE BIBLE IS ALL TRUE FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION AND THOSE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IT ARE IN TROUBLE. 2ND TIMOTHY 3:16 CLEARLY POINTS OUT THAT "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." IT SAYS ALL SCRIPTURE, NOT JUST WHAT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE, IS INSPIRED BY GOD.
TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT BELIEVING REALLY IS AND THE POWER IT CARRIES, LET'S LOOK AT THE STORY ABOUT THE RULER OF THE SYNAGOGUE COMING TO JESUS BECAUSE HIS DAUGHTER HAD DIED. LOOK WHAT JESUS TOLD HIM IN MARK 5:36 "As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe". WHAT POWERFUL WORDS "ONLY BELIEVE". DID YOU KNOW THE WORD "BELIEVE" APPEARS 124 TIMES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT AND 75 OF THOSE WERE IN THE GOSPELS. (KING JAMES BIBLE) I JUST THOUGHT THAT WAS INTERESTING.
DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE GOD'S WORD, HE WILL REWARD YOU? LOOK WHAT YOUR REWARD WAS WHEN YOU HAD FAITH TO BELIEVE JESUS DIED, WAS BURIED, AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD. THAT WAS THE GREATEST REWARD EVER. LOOK WHAT PAUL SAYS IN HEBREWS 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". THE KEY WORDS ARE "FAITH", "BELIEVE" AND "SEEK". IS THIS YOU?
IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF ANYTHING, JUST ASK YOURSELF THIS, "DO I HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE AND AM I SEEKING GOD FIRST"? IN MATTHEW 6:31-33, JESUS GIVES US A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING. I WILL QUOTE HIM HERE..."Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
JESUS SAYS IN JOHN 15:16 THAT "whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you", ALTHOUGH HE KNOWS WHAT WE NEED, HE SAYS TO ASK. IF YOU ARE BELIEVING AND SEEKING GOD FIRST, THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM IN RECEIVING FROM GOD. ARE YOU ASKING?
