WILL YOU BELIEVE?
I KNOW I WRITE A LOT ABOUT BELIEVING BUT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD. I AM GOING TO LIST A FEW VERSES FROM THE GOSPELS TO SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN.
MARK 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
MARK 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
MARK 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
MARK 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
LUKE 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
JOHN 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
NOW YOU CAN SEE WHY I SAY IT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO BELIEVE. EVEN JESUS, WITH ALL HIS POWER, COULD NOT DO MANY MIGHTY WORKS IN HIS OWN HOUSE BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF. (MATTHEW 13:57-58 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.)
SO IT BOILS DOWN TO THIS, WE MUST BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD AND THE POWER THAT IS IN IT IF WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE HIS BLESSINGS. BELIEVING, COUPLED WITH FAITH, CAN ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING THAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR US. WILL YOU BELIEVE IN HIM TODAY? I KNOW I AM GOING TO.
