"THE HEART MATTERS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"THE HEART MATTERS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 7:22 "Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man."

JOHN 7:21-24

The covenant of circumcision was given to Abram in Gen. 17:9-14. In v. 14, the Lord said that any man who did not carry this sign of the covenant in his flesh was to be killed. This placed a great importance on the act of circumcision. Paul says in Rom. 4:3-13, that Abraham had already been justified by faith before he was circumcised. It was Abram's faith that saved him at least 13 years before the Lord commanded Abram to be circumcised. The Jews had focused on the outward act of obedience instead of the inward act of faith that caused Abraham to be obedient. This was the source of the contention between Jesus and the...

John 7:19 "Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?"

JOHN 7:16-19

These Jews prided themselves on their observance of the law, but they were keeping the letter of the law and missing its true intent. The greatest of all the Old Testament laws was to love God and then to love your neighbor as yourself. The Jews were violating these laws by having hatred in their hearts toward Jesus and wanting to kill Him. They denied that they desired to kill Him, but the scriptures declare that they had already plotted or tried to kill Him three times.

They also knew much about God. It was required of the Jewish men to memorize large portions of the Torah (the first five books of the Bible). Their whole society revolved around God's moral standards and countless religious observances. However, they did not know God.

"WHERE IS YOUR HILL TOP?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HAVE YOU EVER JUST SAT ALONE SOMEWHERE AND SANG PRAISES TO JESUS? WHAT A WONDERFUL FEELING IT IS TO JUST BE CAUGHT UP IN HIS LOVE.  EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT THIS BRINGS TO MIND A WONDERFUL FRIEND OF MINE THAT I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT BEFORE.  I CAN STILL SEE HER SITTING ON HER FRONT PORCH ON HER "HILL TOP", LIFTING HER HANDS TO THE LORD AND SINGING PRAISES TO HIM.  WE  SHOULD ALL FIND OUR "HILL TOP" AND DO THIS.

SPEAKING OF SINGING PRAISES TO THE LORD, I LOVE PSALM 100.  JUST READ IT AND PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IT SAYS.  "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with...

"RECEIVE THE FULLNESS OF GOD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

SOME PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE THAT GOD COMES TO LIVES INSIDE US WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN.  THEY WILL QUOTE THE VERSE IN 2ND CHRONICLES 6:18 WHICH SAYS "But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!"  WHAT THEY HAVE TO REALIZE IS THAT GOD IS A SPIRIT AND HE EXISTS IN THREE PERSONALITIES, GOD (THE FATHER), GOD THE SON (JESUS) AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT (THE COMFORTER), STILL ONLY ONE GOD.  (JOHN 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.)

"HOLY GHOST TEACHER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"HOLY GHOST TEACHER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 7:15 "And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?"

JOHN 7:14-15

Jesus received His wisdom and knowledge by direct revelation from the Spirit of God rather than by the teachings of man. Jesus had been learning, but not through man. The Holy Ghost was His teacher. Jesus had to be taught the things of God. This looks contrary to Colossians 2:3, which says that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Jesus. If Jesus was God manifest in the flesh, why would He have to learn or be taught?

The harmony between these apparently opposite statements is that Jesus' spirit man was 100% God and had all of the wisdom and understanding of God in it, but it was manifest in natural flesh. It wasn't sinful flesh but it was flesh, nonetheless, and had to be educated. Jesus was not taught by man, but He was taught by the direct revelation...

"KEEPING OUR THOUGHTS ON JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"KEEPING OUR THOUGHTS ON JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT THE SERMON WAS ABOUT AT YOUR CHURCH LAST SUNDAY?  THIS MIGHT SOUND LIKE A DUMB QUESTION BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED AT HOW MANY PEOPLE JUST CAN'T REMEMBER.  WE GET SO CAUGHT UP IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES THAT SOMETIMES WE ARE NOT REALLY THINKING ABOUT JESUS OR EVEN LISTENING TO WHAT THE PASTOR IS SAYING.  I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS ONE OF THOSE IN MY YOUNGER DAYS.  I COULDN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF CHURCH, GET HOME AND GET READY FOR THAT FOOTBALL GAME, OR GO FISHING OR JUST ANYTHING BUT BEING IN CHURCH.  YOU ASK ME WHY I EVEN WENT???  I WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW WHAT A GOOD CHRISTIANS I WAS.  ISN'T THAT SAD.  I HAVE SINCE ASK FORGIVENESS FOR THAT.

I WILL TELL YOU HOW I OVERCAME THE TEMPTATION OF THINKING ABOUT OTHER THINGS IN CHURCH.  I WOULD DO WHAT, I GUESS, MOST OTHER CHRISTIANS DID AND WHAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING ALL THE TIME....

"LIMITLESS FORGIVENESS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"LIMITLESS FORGIVENESS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 18:33 "Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?"

MATTHEW 18: 21-35

Peter thought he was being very generous by offering to forgive his brother seven times in one day, but Jesus said he should forgive him 490 times in one day. It would be impossible to have someone sin against you 490 times in one day. Jesus is actually saying that there should be no limit to our forgiveness.

When we are offended or hurt, we often feel justified in holding a grudge. The Old Testament law expressed this when it stated, "Eye for eye, tooth for tooth" (Ex. 21:23-25). Until the offense was paid, we did not feel free to forgive. However, God dealt with all men's offenses by placing sin upon the perfect Savior who was judged in place of every sinner of all time. To demand that others now earn our forgiveness is not Christ like. Jesus died for...

"WE NEED TO OBEY GOD'S COMMANDMENTS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DID YOU KNOW THAT GOD GAVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS TO SHOW THE PEOPLE JUST HOW BAD THEY WERE.   THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE CALL "THE LAW" AND BEFORE THE LAW, MEN WERE SINNING BUT DID NOT KNOW IT.   (ROMANS 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.)   THE LAW SHOWED PEOPLE WHAT WAS SIN AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE.

"DISCIPLINE BRINGS LIFE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"DISCIPLINE BRINGS LIFE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 18:18-19 "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

MATTHEW 18:15-19

Verses 18 and 19 have many applications, but taken in context, they are specifically referring to church discipline. Some might think that church discipline is only symbolic and carries no real weight; however, Jesus is making it clear that in the spiritual realm, discipline that is directed by the Holy Spirit has much power.

The scriptural commands concerning church discipline are designed to help restore the brother or sister who is in sin just as much as they are designed to protect other members of the body from that sin. If the...

"GOD'S GREAT LOVE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD TRULY LOVES US?   HE IS NOT FAR OFF IN HEAVEN WATCHING US TO SEE IF WE ARE GOING TO SIN LIKE SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE.  HE LOVES US BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS DID FOR US.   BEFORE JESUS TOOK OUR SINS AWAY, WE COULDN'T EVEN GO STRAIGHT TO HIM IN PRAYER.   KNOWING ALL OF WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN TO JESUS, WHAT REJECTION HE WOULD FACE, THE PAIN HE WOULD SUFFER ON THE CROSS, AND ESPECIALLY HIS PAIN (GOD'S PAIN) WHEN HE HAD TO TURN HIS BACK ON JESUS ON THE CROSS BECAUSE HE COULD NOT LOOK ON ALL THAT SIN.   DO YOU REMEMBER THE WORDS OF JESUS, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"   THEN THE BIBLE SAYS "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."   I AM SURE THAT HIS BELIEVING THAT GOD, HIS OWN...
