ARE YOU REALLY BORN AGAIN? DID YOU RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR OR DID YOU GO DOWN TO THE ALTER IN CHURCH FOR ANOTHER REASON. I AM SERIOUS. IN MY GROWING UP YEARS, I HEARD BOYS JOKE ABOUT THEM GOING DOWN TO THE ALTER JUST BECAUSE OTHER KIDS WERE DOING IT. THAT IS NOT BEING BORN AGAIN. I AM AFRAID A LOT MORE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY MEN, ARE LIKE THIS. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THESE KIDS AND WAS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT RECEIVING JESUS, LET ME TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HELL. IF YOU THINK THAT IS A LITTLE HARSH. JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU DIE, YOU WILL FIND OUT WHAT HARSH IS.
DO YOU BELIEVE THE WHOLE BIBLE IS TRUE? A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T, EVEN SOME CHRISTIANS. I OFTEN WONDERED HOW THEY COULD PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO BELIEVE AND THINK THEY ARE SAVED. I ONLY SAY THIS BECAUSE OF WHAT PAUL SAYS TO TIMOTHY IN 2ND TIMOTHY 3:16-17 WHERE HE SAYS "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH ME TRYING TO TEACH A MESSAGE LIKE THIS ONE IS THAT THEY CAN CHOOSE NOT TO BELIEVE THESE TWO VERSES. THERE IS NOT A LOT ANYONE CAN DO BUT TO PRAY FOR THEM. IF ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD HIMSELF, HOW CAN ANYONE NOT BELIEVE IN IT?
It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to reprove sin, righteousness, and judgment. It is not our ministry. We are simply witnesses. A witness is not the judge or the jury. A witness simply relates what he has experienced, thereby providing evidence to the truth of something. We are to witness in word and deed, to the truth of Jesus being alive in us and let God be the one who convicts. We are simply to testify to what we have seen or to what has happened to us.
Some people in their zeal, have gone beyond the witness stage and have tried to bring people under conviction themselves. This is assuming the job that belongs to the Holy Spirit alone. WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW IS HOW MUCH JESUS LOVES THEM. HOW MUCH HE SUFFERED FOR THEM AND EVEN DIED FOR THEM. THEY MIGHT EVEN KNOW THIS BUT REMIND THEM THAT THEY CAN SAY THEY KNOW ALL ABOUT THAT BUT IF THEY DON'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, THEY STILL WILL GO TO HELL. DO YOU FEEL STRANGE BEING CALLED GOD'S CHILD? DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE JOINT HEIRS WITH JESUS? THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT WE ARE BOTH OF THESE. LET'S JUST READ WHAT IT SAYS IN ROMANS 8:14-17 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. THE WORD "ABBA" WAS A WORD USED BY THE ROMANS MEANING "FATHER" BUT WE COULD USE IT AS "DADDY". I KNOW GOD IS MY HEAVENLY FATHER BUT I FIND IT HARD TO CALL HIM DADDY. IT JUST SOUNDS SO ORDINARY OR COMMONPLACE FOR OUR GREAT HOLY GOD.

This is a profound truth, that is the key to bearing fruit, but it is so easy to forget. Because the fruit is borne on the branch, it is easy to credit the branch with the fruit, when it is the vine that drew the life from the earth and channeled it through the branch.
Likewise, since we are the branch through which the life of God flows, we sometimes think that it is our own holiness that produces the fruit. The moment we think that way, we are no longer abiding (trusting in; clinging to) in the vine and we will become fruitless if we persist in this mind set.
