"ALIVE UNTO GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"ALIVE UNTO GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 17:2 "And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light."

MATTHEW 17:1-8, MARK 9:1-8, LUKE 9:28-36

It is interesting to compare Jesus' transfiguration with that of Moses'. Jesus' face shone as the sun and His garment was as white as the light. This certainly exceeded what Moses experienced, and yet Jesus' face did not continue to shine when He came down off of the mountain as Moses' face did. Moses' face reflected the glory of God, but Jesus was the glory of God (Jn. 1:14; Heb. 1:3). Moses put a veil over his face to conceal the glory of God (Ex. 34:29-35) so that the people would not be afraid to come near him.

Jesus' body was His veil that concealed His true glory within. During His transfiguration, He pulled back the veil of His flesh, and we simply caught a glimpse of His glory that he had with the Father...

"THE LOVE OF GOD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

I LOVE WRITING ABOUT THE LOVE THAT GOD HAS FOR US.  WE SAY IT ALL THE TIME, "GOD, I LOVE YOU", BUT DO YOU SHOW IT?  IF YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND THIS NEXT SCRIPTURE, YOU WOULD SHOW IT MORE.  SO, DO YOU KNOW JUST HOW MUCH HE LOVES YOU?  HE ACTUALLY LOVES YOU AS MUCH AS HE LOVES JESUS.  THAT IS WHAT JESUS TELLS US WHEN HE IS TALKING TO GOD IN JOHN 17:22-23 AS HE SAYS, "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."  THAT SHOULD MAKE YOU WANT TO REJOICE.

HAVE YOU TOLD HIM TODAY THAT YOU LOVE HIM?  WE SHOULD BE TELLING HIM ALL THE TIME FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR US.  DOESN'T IT MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD WHEN SOMEONE, ESPECIALLY YOUR CHILDREN,...
"DO YOU KNOW WHO THE TEMPTER IS?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS WE ARE TEMPTED AS WE GO ABOUT OUR DAILY LIVES AND A LOT OF TIMES WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IT.  SIN STARTS IN THE MIND AND THE DEVIL WILL GIVE US THOUGHTS THAT WILL LEAD TO SIN.  ALSO HE WILL HAVE SOMEONE SUGGEST SOMETHING THAT CAN LEAD TO SIN. MAYBE HE WILL PUT SOMETHING IN FRONT OF US TO TEMPT US.  WHAT WE MUST NOT DO IS DWELL ON THOSE THINGS.  DO THE SAME THING AS YOU WOULD IF YOU PUT SOMETHING IN YOUR MOUTH THAT WAS BAD.....SPIT IT OUT.

AND ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING IS DON'T EVER THINK THAT GOD HAS TEMPTED YOU.  THE BIBLE IS VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT THAT.   JAMES 1:13-14 SAYS "LET NO MAN SAY WHEN HE IS TEMPTED, I AM TEMPTED OF GOD:  FOR GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED WITH EVIL, NEITHER TEMPTETH HE ANY MAN:  BUT EVERY MAN IS TEMPTED WHEN HE IS DRAWN AWAY OF HIS OWN LUST AND ENTICED."  IT IS PRETTY CLEAR THAT GOD IS NOT THE TEMPTER....

"HIS PURPOSE REVEALED" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"HIS PURPOSE REVEALED" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 16:21, "From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day."

MATTHEW 16:20-28

Despite the abundant and clear prophecies about His death and resurrection, Jesus' disciples didn't understand or remember Jesus' words until after His resurrection (Lk. 24:5-9). Luke records twice that Jesus' sayings about His resurrection were hidden from the disciples. It is interesting to note, however, that the chief priests and Pharisees remembered Jesus' prophecies about His resurrection (Mt. 27:63) when His disciples didn't.

One of the great truths of the Bible is that Jesus died for our sins, not for His own. Jesus was totally sinless. This is one of the major differences between Christianity and the religions of the world....

"RECOGNIZE THE REAL ENEMY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"RECOGNIZE THE REAL ENEMY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Mark 8:33, "But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men."

MARK 8:30-33

Jesus was not implying that Peter and Satan were one-and-the-same, but was referring to the fact that Satan had inspired Peter's statement. This type of metaphor was used elsewhere in scripture such as when God spoke to the serpent in the garden of Eden (Gen. 3:15) as though addressing Satan. The serpent was merely the vehicle of communication Satan used to tempt Adam and Eve, while Peter was the vehicle Satan used to tempt Jesus. Ephesians 6:12 reveals that our warfare isn't with people, but against the spiritual powers who inspire and use people. Jesus recognized that Peter's reaction to His prophecy about His death was motivated by His enemy, Satan, so He went right to...

"ARE YOU A BELIEVER?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"ARE YOU A BELIEVER?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

I KNOW I WRITE A LOT ABOUT BELIEVING BUT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD.  I AM GOING TO LIST A FEW VERSES FROM THE GOSPELS TO SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN.

MARK 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

MARK 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say...

"REJOICE OVER PERSECUTION" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"REJOICE OVER PERSECUTION" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

ARE YOU BEING PERSECUTED FOR BELIEVING IN AND SHARING JESUS WITH OTHERS?  PERSECUTION IS BEING HARASSED OR OPPRESSED, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF YOUR BELIEF IN JESUS.  IF YOU ARE, LOOK WHAT JESUS TELLS US TO DO IN MATTHEW 5:12 WHEN HE SAYS "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."  OUR BELIEF IN HIM WILL BE REWARDED FAR GREATER THAN ANY SUFFERING WE MIGHT ENCOUNTER HERE ON EARTH.

WHETHER YOU KNOW IT OR NOT, JESUS TAKES YOUR PERSECUTION VERY SERIOUSLY.  AFTER PAUL HAD BEEN TRAVELING AROUND, PUTTING BELIEVERS IN JESUS IN PRISON AND HAVING SOME PUT TO DEATH, JESUS ASK HIM WHY HE WAS PERSECUTING HIM, NOT THE BELIEVERS.  LOOK WHAT IT SAYS IN ACTS 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

WE HAVE TO REMEMBER...

"GOD'S WILL ABOVE OURS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"GOD'S WILL ABOVE OURS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 9:23, "And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

MATTHEW 16:16-26; MARK 8:30-37; LUKE 9:21-27

Self-denial is an important part of the Christian life. Jesus sacrificed His life for us and He demands that we die to ourselves that we might experience the new life He has provided. We do this first by recognizing that we can't save ourselves by our own effort and, second, by trusting God - not self - for salvation. Then daily, we need to deny our own wisdom and seek God's wisdom and direction for our lives.

Self-denial is only good when we are denying ourselves for the singular purpose of exalting Jesus and His will for us in some area of our life. Some have made a religion out of self-denial and find pleasure in their denial - not in Jesus'lordship. This leads to legalism and bondage, which Paul...

"JESUS, THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"JESUS, THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 16:18, "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

MATTHEW 16:13-19

Some people have mistakenly interpreted this passage to say that Peter was the foundation on which Christ would build His Church. However, that would violate many scriptures that refer to Jesus as the "chief cornerstone."

Ephesians 2:20 does mention the apostles as being part of the foundation stones of Christ's church, but it doesn't single Peter out above any of the other apostles, This same scripture once again mentions Jesus as the "chief cornerstone."

There are two different Greek words used for "Peter" and "rock" respectively in verse 18. The word used for "Peter" means "rock" but signifies a piece of rock like a pebble. In contrast, the word translated as "rock" signifies a massive rock which...

"DO YOU REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DO YOU THINK GOD PUT ADAM AND EVE OUT OF THE GARDEN OF EDEN BECAUSE HE WAS ANGRY AFTER THEY SINNED?  HE ACTUALLY PUT THEM OUT BECAUSE HE LOVED THEM AND ALL OF US, WHO ARE THEIR DESCENDANTS.  HE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THEY DIDN'T EAT OF "THE TREE OF LIFE" AND LIVE FOREVER IN A CORRUPT BODY.  CAN YOU IMAGINE LIVING FOREVER BEING BLIND, DEAF OR HAVING NO ARMS OR LEGS?  THAT IS WHAT WE WOULD BE GOING THROUGH IF THEY HAD EATEN OF "THE TREE OF LIFE".  HE EVEN PUT ANGELS THERE TO KEEP THEM OUT.

HE DIDN'T EVEN HOLD ADAM'S AND EVE'S SIN AGAINST THEM OR EVEN CAIN FOR KILLING ABLE.  IT TELLS US THIS IN ROMANS 5:13 WHERE IT SAYS "For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law."  THE LAW, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS", DID NOT COME UNTIL MOSES, MANY YEARS LATER.

SO GOD WAS NOT HOLDING SINS...
