"WATER BAPTISM IS A SIGN" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"WATER BAPTISM IS A SIGN" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Water baptism is a command of Jesus and is the initial action taken upon believing. Mark's statement could be rendered, "He who believes with saving faith (i.e. faith that produces actions) will be saved." In this sense, water baptism is very important. It is an opportunity to act on your new profession of faith. Anyone who refuses to follow Jesus' command to receive water baptism, may be suspected of not really believing.

However, there are scriptural examples of people being born again before they were baptized in water. Cornelius and his friends were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues before they were baptized in water (Acts 10:44-48). John 14:17 records Jesus saying that an unbeliever cannot receive the Holy Ghost, so Cornelius and his friends must have...

"A GIFT FOR JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                                            A GIFT FOR JESUS

FIRST LET ME WISH EVERYONE OF YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS.  I WROTE ON THIS SOME YEARS AGO AND THOUGHT I WOULD BRING IT UP AGAIN.  WHAT BETTER WAY TO TELL GOD THAT YOU LOVE HIM THAN TO GIVE HIM A GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS.  HE GAVE US THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT OF ALL AND NOW IT IS OUR TIME TO GIVE HIM A GIFT.

WHAT DO YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO HAS EVERYTHING.  WELL, FOR GOD, I WOULD BELIEVE HE WOULD LIKE FOR US TO TELL EVERYONE WE KNOW ABOUT THE LOVE HE HAS FOR ALL OF...

"WE ARE ONLY COMPLETE IN CHRIST" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"WE ARE ONLY COMPLETE IN CHRIST" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 20:31 "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

Recognition of our completeness in Christ is a tremendous safeguard against deception. Prior to salvation we are incomplete and constantly strive to satisfy our hunger. But through the new birth, we are complete in Christ and our hunger should only be for more revelation of what we already have in Christ. Total satisfaction with Christ disarms Satan's lies. A big part of all temptation is dissatisfaction.

Adam and Eve would not have eaten of the forbidden fruit if they hadn't been made dissatisfied with what they had. Through Satan's lie they were led to believe that they didn't have it all (Gen. 3:5). The truth is, they did have it all. They were more like God before they ate of the fruit than after they ate the fruit....

"SUPERNATURAL FAITH" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"SUPERNATURAL FAITH" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 20:25 "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."

Thomas refused to believe what He couldn't see or feel. Our five senses were given to us by God and are necessary to help us function in this life. But if we do not renew our minds to acknowledge the limits of our five senses, they will keep us from believing. Faith can perceive things that the senses cannot (Heb. 11:1).

There is a human faith and a supernatural, God-kind of faith. Human faith is based on physical things that we can see, taste, hear, smell, or feel. God's kind of faith believes independently of physical circumstances. To receive God's gift of salvation, we have to use the supernatural, God-kind of faith...

"DO YOU KNOW THE STORY OF JESUS' BIRTH?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DO YOU KNOW THE STORY OF JESUS' BIRTH?

I POSTED THIS SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND FOR YOU WHO DID NOT SEE IT, HERE IT IS FOR YOU.  I THINK YOU WILL ENJOY IT.

The typical story we hear repeated about the birth of Jesus is:

“It’s about 2000 years ago, the evening of December 25. Mary rides into Bethlehem on a donkey, urgently needing to deliver her baby. Although it’s an emergency, all the innkeepers turn them away. So they deliver baby Jesus in a stable. Then angels sing to the shepherds. Afterwards, they all join...
"HEALED AND FORGIVEN, IT WAS ALL IN THE ATONEMENT" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HEALED AND FORGIVEN, IT WAS ALL IN THE ATONEMENT

DO YOU KNOW WHAT ATONEMENT MEANS?  IT IS MENTIONED IN ROMANS 5:10-11 AND IT SAYS "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement."  THE...

"THE EFFECTS OF SIN" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"THE EFFECTS OF SIN" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 20:23 "Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained."

The meaning of this verse has been hotly debated for centuries. One thing is certain, it does not mean we have the power to justify a person from his sins so he can be born again; only God can do that.

Many people have taught that Jesus is saying, that if we fail to witness to others, we are retaining their sins unto them, and if we do share His love with others, then we are remitting their sins. Although there is truth in this statement, it is not what this verse is teaching. Rather, this verse deals with the temporal effects that sin has on a person's life. Not only is there a future death penalty for sin, but sin destroys us emotionally and physically in this life too. It is this present destruction that sin brings into a person's life that Jesus gave us...

"DON'T BE LUKEWARM" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                               DON'T BE LUKEWARM

I GET SO TIRED OF HEARING PEOPLE TALK ABOUT RELIGIONS OTHER THAN CHRISTIANITY.  YOU CAN USUALLY TELL THAT THEY HAVE HEARD JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM SOUND STUPID.  THE STATEMENT I HATE, YES I SAID HATE, IS "WELL, THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET TO HEAVEN".  DO THEY REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE SAYING?  DO THEY EVER READ THE BIBLE? EVIDENTLY NO IN BOTH CASES.  ONE SIMPLE LITTLE VERSE MAKES ALL OF THIS VERY CLEAR AND THAT IS JOHN 14:6 WHERE JESUS SAYS "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

"MINISTER THE GOOD NEWS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"MINISTER THE GOOD NEWS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 20:21 "Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you."

The dictionary states that to reconcile means to re-establish friendship between; to settle or resolve, as a dispute. The key to reconciliation is to effectively deal with the enmity, ill will, hatred, or hostility that caused the dispute, etc.

The enmity between man and God was sin. God took the initiative to remove this barrier through the means and agency of Jesus Christ, thus leaving man and God as friends once again.

We have received the ministry of reconciliation. That means we are in the ministry of reconciling people to God. Much of what people call the gospel today is actually alienating man from God. True, we need to show people their need for God to get them to receive His forgiveness and reconciliation, but the angry and bitter attitude some people...
