"WE ALL NEED TO LEARN PATIENCE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"WE ALL NEED TO LEARN PATIENCE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

WE ALL NEED TO LEARN PATIENCE

THIS MORNING AS I WAS STUDYING ROMANS, I STOPPED ON CHAPTER 5, VERSE 2, WHERE IT TALKS ABOUT PATIENCE.  MY DEFINITION OF PATIENCE, BEFORE I READ THE FULL DEFINITION, WAS "JUST COOL IT AND SEE IF IT HAPPENS".  AFTER LOOKING IT UP, I FOUND THAT I WAS WAY OFF.  THE NOAH WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY OF 1828 SAYS IT MEANS "The suffering of afflictions, pain, toil, calamity, provocation or other evil, with a calm, unruffled temper; endurance without murmuring or fretfulness."  DOESN'T THIS

"OUR NATURE IN CHRIST" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Here, Jesus teaches that the believer must persevere to receive complete salvation. Salvation is a gift that cannot be earned or maintained by our own works. It has to be received by faith. However, there is effort on our part to maintain that faith. This is where holiness comes in.

Holiness will not produce relationship with God, nor will a lack of holiness make God turn away from us. He deals with us according to our faith in Jesus, not our performance. Holiness will keep Satan from stealing our faith, while a lack of holiness is an open invitation for the devil to do his worst. A person who wants to endure to the end cannot live a lifestyle that permits Satan free access to him.

Although God is not imputing our sins unto us, we cannot afford the luxury of sin because it allows Satan to...

"USING THE POWER OF GOD'S WORD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"USING THE POWER OF GOD'S WORD"

DO YOU SOMETIMES FEEL UNWORTHY OF GOD'S LOVE?  YOU KNOW YOU HAVE SINNED AND FEEL SO BAD ABOUT IT.  WELL, IF YOU HAVE, AND WE ALL DO, JUST ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU. WHEN JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS, IT WAS FOR THE SIN YOU JUST COMMITTED AND THAT SIN HAS ALREADY BEEN FORGIVEN. HOWEVER, WHEN WE DO SIN AND ASK FORGIVENESS, THAT PUTS YOU BACK UNDER THE UMBRELLA, SO TO SPEAK, OF GOD'S PROTECTION AND TELLS THE DEVIL THAT YOU ARE STILL IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND HE (THE DEVIL) HAS NO POWER OVER YOU.

YOU SEE, GOD IS NOT IN HEAVEN LOOKING DOWN...

"BASE YOUR RELATIONSHIP ON GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"BASE YOUR RELATIONSHIP ON GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 24:12 "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

The only reason that an abundance of iniquity would make anyone's love for the Lord wax cold, is if he were not separated from that iniquity. As with Lot, a righteous man can vex his soul from day to day by hearing and seeing the unlawful deeds of the ungodly (2 Pet. 2:8).

We have to deal with the world's system and those in it, but we need to be careful and maintain proper balance. We should shun relationships with those who influence us negatively more than we influence them positively.

Marriage is one area where this principle is especially true. There is no closer union in life than the marriage relationship. A believer who marries an unbeliever is directly violating this scripture and is toying with disaster. The Lord should be the most important person in our life. How could we...

"WE ARE IN A WAR" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                                       WE ARE IN A WAR

I WANT TO TALK TO YOU THIS MORNING ABOUT WAR.  WE ARE IN A WAR AND THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO WIN.  2ND CORINTHIANS 10:4-5 SAY "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds); Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

THIS IS A REALLY POWERFUL SCRIPTURE AND SAYS A GREAT DEAL.  WE SHOULD ALWAYS BE IN A WAR WITH...

"GUARD AGAINST DECEPTION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"GUARD AGAINST DECEPTION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 24:4 "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you."

MATTHEW 24:3-5

Deception can be avoided or else Jesus would not have said, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Satan can only deceive those who allow him to do it.

Ephesians 6:11 tells us to "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Putting on the whole armour of God will protect you from the deception of the devil. Just wearing part of God's armour will not fully protect you. Many Christians have been running around with the helmet of salvation on but nothing else. There is more to overcoming the devil than just being saved. We have to understand our righteous position in the Lord. We also must possess faith, know the Word, and understand the gospel of peace.

The Christian life is a constant struggle against Satan, who is trying...

"HEALING IS FOR ALL" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                              "HEALING IS FOR ALL"

MOST OF US CHRISTIANS KNOW THAT GOD CAN HEAL BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE DON'T BELIEVE HE WILL DO IT FOR US.  I HAVE KNOWN CHRISTIANS THAT HAVE PRAYED FOR PEOPLE TO GET HEALED AND THEY WERE NOT HEALED.  THERE RESPONSE TO THAT WAS "I GUESS IT WAS NOT GOD'S WILL TO HEAL THEM".  HOW WRONG WAS THAT.  JESUS HEALED EVERYONE HE CAME IN CONTACT WITH DURING HIS MINISTRY AND HE SAID HE ONLY DID THE WILL OF HIS FATHER.  THAT PROVES THAT GOD WANTS US ALL HEALED.

THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE NOT GETTING HEALED IS THAT SOMETIMES THEY DON'T HAVE THE FAITH TO BE HEALED.  THERE ARE OTHERS THAT...

"GOD RECOGNIZES OUR SACRIFICES" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Mark 12:41-42 "And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing."

MARK 12:41-44

The treasury that is spoken of here is a place located in the Women's Court that was in the temple complex but was not part of the temple itself. Women were not allowed in the temple, so the fact that this widow was casting her offering into the treasury verifies the location of the treasury.

Jesus used this instance to teach His disciples a very important lesson. He did not say these things to this widow personally. God's promises concerning giving give us an assurance that this offering was blessed back to this woman in this life, but the widow did not hear His commendation. There is no indication that this poor widow ever knew...

"FORGIVENESS OF SIN" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                               FORGIVENESS OF SIN

JUST THINK ABOUT THE SINS YOU HAVE COMMITTED THIS WEEK.  DO YOU THINK GOD IS CHARGING THOSE SINS AGAINST YOU?  WELL, HE IS NOT.  1ST JOHN 2:2 TELLS US THIS ABOUT JESUS, "And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."  AND 2ND CORINTHIANS 5:18-19 TELLS US THAT OUR SINS ARE NOT CHARGED AGAINST US, "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath...

"GOD'S MERCY IS A GIFT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"GOD'S MERCY IS A GIFT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 23:23 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

One of the ways that God's goodness is revealed is by His mercy. We may describe mercy as the readiness of God to relieve the misery of fallen creatures. Many times, mercy is called compassion or lovingkindness. It is expressed toward the sinner because of the misery that sin has brought upon him.

God's mercy to the believer is revealed by God taking away the misery of sin's consequences through the New Covenant of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Mercy is not something merited or earned, but a gift, as the apostle Paul states, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY He saved us" (Ti....
