"SAVED BY GRACE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-04

Saved By Grace

Luke 10:28-29 - 'And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?'

Just as with this lawyer, pride causes many people to resist the truth of justification by faith in the grace of God. This lawyer loved himself and the public recognition his 'holy acts' gave him. He was not willing to love God first and his fellow man ahead of himself. His was not a sincere question but rather an evasive question to shun responsibility. This man was seeking to be justified in the sight of God through his actions. He knew he had not loved everyone as he loved himself, so he is tried to interpret the scripture (Lev. 19:18) in a way that would conform to his...

BEING BORN AGAIN, RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE

I AM WRITING TO YOU AGAIN WHO HAVE NOT RECEIVED JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR.  I AM SURE YOU HAVE HEARD FROM A LOT OF PEOPLE HOW YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR WAYS AND HOW BAD YOU HAVE BEEN.  I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU THAT BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT ALREADY.

"FOCUS ON JESUS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Focus On Jesus

Luke 10:20 - 'Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.'

We were never instructed to have a Ph.D. in demonology. However, some justify focusing on Satan and his activity to an inordinate degree. This will actually encourage demonic activity and become a device that Satan can use against us.

As Paul said, we should not be 'ignorant' of Satan's devices. We certainly need to know that the devil and demons exist, and we need to recognize when we are facing demonic activity. But we need to keep our focus on the Lord.

Some people who are excessive in 'spiritual warfare' actually spend more time talking to the devil each day than they do...

"MAKING TIME FOR GOD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

MAKING TIME FOR GOD

SOME PEOPLE DON'T EVER MAKE ANY TIME FOR GOD.  HE WANTS TO FELLOWSHIP WITH US DAILY BUT THE ONLY TIME GOD IS MENTIONED, IN A LOT OF HOMES, IS WHEN BLESSING THE FOOD, IF THAT IS EVEN DONE. THEN, IT IS SAID JUST BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BEFORE EATING AND A LOT OF TIMES IT IS A BLESSING WE HAVE MEMORIZED.  I KNOW, I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DID THAT.

PRAYER SHOULD BE A PERSONAL TIME WITH GOD.  WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TALKING TO HIM AND NOT JUST SAYING NICE WORDS FOR PEOPLE TO HEAR.  IN THE PAST WHEN I KNEW I WAS GOING TO BE CALLED ON TO PRAY I WOULD MEMORIZE A...

"FREEDOM FROM TEMPTATION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Freedom From Temptation

Luke 10:19 - 'Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.'

Although these are examples of God's protection from harm caused by the physical creation, this scripture is also speaking of mastery over the spiritual realm of the enemy (i.e., Satan). This Scripture does not say that Satan cannot inflict any harm. The scriptures abound with examples, and warnings of the enemy's damage on the godly and the ungodly alike (2 Cor. 2:11, 2 Tim. 2:26, 1 Pet. 5:8-9). However, he cannot harm us when we are walking in faith in Christ's redemptive work.

There are no unique temptations. The devil likes to make us think there are. If he can...

THANK HIM BY "DOING" AND NOT JUST "SAYING"

I AM SURE WE ALL ARE THANKFUL FOR WHAT JESUS DID FOR US. NATURALLY, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS OUR SALVATION WHEN HE TOOK OUR SINS AND SICKNESSES TO THE CROSS.  HE ALSO MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO GO DIRECTLY TO GOD WITH ANY PROBLEMS WE MIGHT HAVE.

NOW, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER THINGS HE HAS DONE, AND IS DOING, FOR US THAT WE DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT?  THE SAD THING IS THAT THERE ARE NO WORDS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, OR ANY LANGUAGE, THAT CAN EXPRESS THE THANKFULNESS WE SHOULD HAVE FOR ALL HIS BLESSINGS.  I KNOW WE SAY "THANK YOU" BUT THOSE ARE JUST WORDS, EVEN...

"POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-01

Power In The Name Of Jesus

Luke 10:17 - 'And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.'

It was the power in the name of Jesus plus the disciples' faith in that power that made the demons subject unto them. This can clearly be seen in Acts 19:13-17 where certain Jews called on the name of Jesus in an effort to cast demons out of a man. They used the name of Jesus, but it didn't work because they had not put faith in that name.

These Jews were itinerants who used incantations to effect deliverance for people who were demon possessed. The first-century historian, Josephus, wrote of an exorcism that he witnessed in the presence of Vespasian and many of his soldiers. The exorcist supposedly...

"GOD WANTS US TO PROSPER" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

GOD WANTS US TO PROSPER

I HAVE HEARD SO MANY BAD THINGS ABOUT SOME OF THE TV AND RADIO PREACHERS MAKING TOO MUCH MONEY.  THAT SHOULD BE BETWEEN THEM AND GOD.  I KNOW THERE ARE PROBABLY SOME THAT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND THAT SHOULD BE BETWEEN THEM AND GOD ALSO.  GOD WANTS ALL OF US TO PROSPER AND THE WAY HE CHOOSES TO DO THAT IS UP TO HIM.  THE SCRIPTURE SAYS IN 3RD JOHN 1:2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. JUST REMEMBER ALL SCRIPTURE IN INSPIRED BY GOD AS STATED IN 2ND TIMOTHY 3:16 WHERE IT SAYS...

"WHAT'S YOUR MOTIVATION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-06-30

What's Your Motivation

Matthew 6:1, 'Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.'

MATTHEW 6:1-4

The motive behind our gift is more important than the gift itself. Paul said if he gave all of his goods to feed the poor, or if he made the ultimate sacrifice of giving his own life for someone else, and wasn't motivated by love, his gift would profit him nothing (1 Cor. 13:3).

Many Christians give faithfully but never see the hundredfold return that the Lord promised because of wrong motives (Mk. 10:29-30). Paul said God loves a cheerful giver - not one who gives grudgingly or out of debt (2 Cor. 9:7).

Jesus gave us the key to purifying...

"JESUS HAS DONE IT ALL FOR US" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

JESUS HAS DONE IT ALL FOR US

WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH JESUS LOVES US BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID FOR US, BUT HE DOES LITTLE THINGS FOR US THAT SOMETIMES WE DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT.  I WAS READING ABOUT JOHN THE BAPTIST AND WHEN HE WAS BEHEADED.  IT MUST HAVE BEEN A BAD TIME FOR HIS DISCIPLES AND THE BIBLE SAYS THAT WHEN THEY HEARD ABOUT IT, THEY CAME AND TOOK HIS CORPSE AND PUT IT IN A TOMB.  WHEN THEY HAD DONE THIS, THE BIBLE SAYS HIS APOSTLES GATHERED THEMSELVES TOGETHER UNTO JESUS AND TOLD HIM ALL THINGS.
