About

I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"GIVE THE GIFT OF LOVE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-28

I HAVE WRITTEN ON THIS BEFORE BUT JESUS HAS BROUGHT THIS TO MIND TODAY AND I AM GOING TO WRITE ON IT AGAIN AS I FEEL HE IS TELLING ME TO DO SO.   JESUS SAYS TO HONOR YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER AND IT IS HIS ONLY COMMANDMENT WITH A BLESSING ATTACHED TO IT FOR US CHILDREN.

ARE YOUR PARENTS STILL ALIVE?  IF THEY ARE, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU TALKED WITH THEM OR ARE YOU NOT TALKING TO THEM FOR SOME SPECIFIC REASON?  AT LEAST YOU STILL HAVE THEM HERE ON EARTH SO YOU CAN TALK WITH THEM.  DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER WHY YOU STOPPED TALKING WITH THEM?  WELL, IT IS ABOUT TIME YOU STRAIGHTENED THINGS OUT.  YOU MIGHT THINK YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME IN YOUR LIFE TO SPEND WITH THEM BUT WHEN THEY ARE GONE, BELIEVE ME, YOU WILL REGRET IT. THEY NEED YOU NOW MORE...

Blessed To Be A Blessing

Luke 16:1 'And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.'

LUKE 16:1-18

The unjust steward was covetous. He had not been faithful to his master or to his master's debtors. He had wasted his master's goods on himself. When found out, his self-serving nature considered the options, and decided there had to be a change. He decided to use his lord's money to make friends so that when he was fired he would have someone to help him.

His master was apparently wealthy enough that he didn't take offense at the steward's discounting of the debts owed to him, but rather...

"JESUS DID IT ALL" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-27

I SAW YESTERDAY THAT THE POPE SAID THAT JESUS WAS A FAILURE ON THE CROSS.  I DON'T KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE AS I READ THE BIBLE, TO ME, JESUS DID IT ALL.  WHAT REALLY DISTURBED ME WAS THE FACT THAT THE AUDIENCE, I AM SURE ALL CATHOLICS, WERE CLAPPING AND CHEERING OVER WHAT HE SAID.  THE BIBLE SAYS FOR US TO BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS.  I WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE POPE THINkS JESUS FAILED AT.  HE TOOK ALL OF OUR SINS AND DISEASES ON HIMSELF AND IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, HE DIED FOR US.  WHAT MORE DID THE POPE WANT.

I WONDER IF HE HAS EVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT JESUS WENT THROUGH ON THE DAY OF HIS CRUCIFIXION AND THE DAYS LEADING UP TO IT?  LET'S JUST LOOK AT A FEW THINGS.  HE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD.  LOOK AT WHAT HE SAYS IN MATTHEW 26:39 "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup...

"ALL THE WRONG REASONS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

All The Wrong Reasons

Luke 15:28 'And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him.'

LUKE 15:25-28

If this elder son had considered his brother, he would have rejoiced at his return even as his father did. Rather, he was totally self-centered (that's pride) and became angry. This illustrates Proverbs 13:10; 'only by pride cometh contention.'

How can we esteem others better than ourselves when in truth we really think we are better than others? Some people are better athletes than others. Some are better businessmen than others. Some are better speakers than others, and so forth. First, we need to recognize that our accomplishments don't make us...

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT SOMETHING IN THE BIBLE AND WHEN YOU TELL THEM WHAT YOU BELIEVE, THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE WRONG   ?  I HAVE HAD A DISCUSSION ABOUT IT BEING A SIN TO CARVE AN ANIMAL OR SOMETHING OUT OF A PALM TREE TRUNK AND I SAID THAT I DID NOT BELIEVE IT WAS A SIN.  THEY ASKED ME WHAT I DID WITH THE SECOND OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, DEUTERONOMY 5:8, WHICH READS IN THE KING JAMES VERSION "Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth."

The Father's Love

July 26th

Luke 15:20 'And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.'

LUKE 15:20

For this boy's father to have seen him 'a great way off' would imply that the Father had been eagerly awaiting his son's return. Certainly, in the spiritual   application   of this parable, our Heavenly Father is longing to cleanse and receive the sinner, if he will just repent and come to Him for forgiveness.

Jesus was using this parable to...

"ARE YOU PLEASING GOD?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-25

A FRIEND AND I WERE TALKING THE OTHER DAY AND HE WAS HAVING A PROBLEM.  I SAID USE YOUR FAITH AND BELIEVE GOD'S PROMISES.  HE SAID THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY FAITH.  I ASKED HIM IF HE BELIEVED THE BIBLE?  I KNEW HE WAS A CHRISTIAN, AND HE SAID CERTAINLY. THEN HOW CAN YOU SAY YOU HAVE NO FAITH?  I SAID YOU HAVE THE SAME FAITH AS EVERYONE ELSE.  HE SAID HE DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT.  I ASK HIM AGAIN, DO YOU BELIEVE THE BIBLE?  IT SAYS IN ROMANS 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

"NEGATIVES BECOME POSITIVE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Negatives Become Positives

July 25th

Luke 15:18 'I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.'

LUKE 15:18-19

This is a   good   example of true repentance. This son did not claim any goodness of his own or try to justify his actions, but he humbled himself and appealed to the mercy of his father. Likewise, we cannot approach God in self-righteousness, but we have to humble ourselves, put all of our faith in a Savior, and turn from our wicked ways (2 Chr. 7:14). That is true repentance.
