"LET GOD PRUNE YOU HIS WAY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-10-22

Let God Prune You His Way

John 15:2 'Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.'

This purging has been interpreted in many ways. The illustration that Jesus is using is one of pruning; therefore, some have said this purging is a very painful process where the Lord cuts and slashes us through things like sickness, death, poverty, and other forms of tragedy so that eventually we will bear more fruit. This teaching not only promotes problems as being good, but necessary, if we want to bear more fruit.

That thinking is not consistent with the rest of God's Word or even the context of this verse. The text makes it very clear that the purging that Jesus speaks...

"GRACE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

GRACE

I LOVE STUDYING ABOUT GRACE.  YOU CAN HARDLY READ A BOOK OF THE BIBLE WITHOUT FINDING THE WORD GRACE, ESPECIALLY IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.  ABOUT THE BEST DEFINITION I HAVE FOUND FOR GRACE IS "THE FREE UNMERITED LOVE AND FAVOR OF GOD.

ONLY WHEN JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD WAS THERE TRUE GRACE.   JOHN 1:17 SAID "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."   ACTS 15:11 PUTS IT ANOTHER WAY "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they."   I WILL GIVE YOU ONE MORE, "ROMANS 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ...

"JESUS IN THE FLESH" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Jesus In The Flesh

John 14:28 'Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.'

Jesus stated His union with the Father so clearly that He was accused of blasphemy more than once. This statement about the Father being greater than Jesus must harmonize, not contradict other claims.

A key to understanding this is given in Philippians 2:6-8, where Paul states that Jesus didn't think it was robbery to be equal with God, but humbled Himself, taking on the form of a servant (speaking of His humanity). Jesus was equal to God in His divine nature but He made Himself inferior to the Father in regard to His humanity. Jesus didn't lose any of...

"GOD LOVES YOU" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

GOD LOVES YOU

DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD LOVES YOU.  HE DOES....HE TOLD ME JUST THIS MORNING.  YOU DON'T THINK GOD TALKS TO ME? JUST LOOK.. "JOHN 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love."

HE IS NOT JUST TALKING TO ME, HE IS TALKING TO ALL OF US. WE JUST HAVE TO GET INTO HIS WORD AND LISTEN.  WE HAVE NO IDEA OF THAT LOVE.  OUR LITTLE PEANUT BRAINS CAN'T THINK THAT BIG.  AS THE FATHER HAS LOVED JESUS, SO HAS JESUS LOVED US.....WOW!!!

FOR YOU WHO DON'T READ YOUR BIBLE EVERY MORNING, SEE WHAT YOU ARE MISSING.  HOW GREAT IT FEELS TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE LOVES US SO MUCH.  I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT THAT MAKES ME FEEL WONDERFUL.

AND, HE ONLY WANTS GOOD THINGS FOR US.  SEE WHAT HE SAYS IN JEREMIAH.  "JEREMIAH 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I...

"GOD IS OUR COMFORT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-10-20

God Is Our Comfort

John 14:16 'And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;'

JOHN 14:16-17

Remember that Jesus was saying these things to His disciples so that they would not be offended. Jesus is speaking to His disciples about the Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter. The ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer is the front line of defense against the devil and his devices of defeat. The phrase, 'The God of all comfort' carries the idea of a divine comforter who encourages, refreshes, strengthens, aids, assists, and is an ever present help in the time of need. The ways that God chooses to comfort are not always the same. He may deliver you or remove the...

"THANKING GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

THANKING GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS

I ASKED ONE TIME IF YOU GIVE GOD THE THANKS HE DESERVES.  I NOW REALIZE WE DON'T HAVE THE CAPACITY TO DO THAT.  HE DESERVES SO MUCH MORE THAN WE COULD EVER EXPRESS.  HOWEVER, WE SHOULD DO THE BEST WE CAN.  DID YOU KNOW THAT PRAISING HIM IS GIVING THANKS TO HIM? THAT IS WHAT IT SAYS IN HEBREWS 13:15 "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."

DID YOU KNOW THAT IT IS GOD'S WILL FOR US TO THANK HIM FOR EVERYTHING?  THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS IN 1ST THESSALONIANS 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  SOMETIMES WE FORGET TO DO THIS.

"GOD WORKS IN THE SIMPLE THINGS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-10-19

God Works In The Simple Things

John 14:7 'If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.'

Knowing Jesus is knowing the Father. This is not only because Jesus did exactly what He saw His Father do, but Jesus was God in the flesh.

The disciples didn't realize that seeing Jesus was seeing God. They were expecting something more. Many times we miss seeing God work in our lives and circumstances because we are looking for something stupendous. Although it is true that God is totally awesome, He doesn't usually choose to manifest Himself in that way.

God spoke to Elijah not in the fire, wind, or an earthquake, but in a still, small voice. Jesus didn't come to this earth in a grand way by...

GETTING ALL YOU CAN FROM THE BIBLE

FOR YOU WHO HAVE NOT READ THE WHOLE BIBLE AND DO NOT HAVE A STUDY PLAN, I RAN ACROSS A TEACHING ON HOW TO READ THE BIBLE AND THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE WITH YOU WHAT I LEARNED.  I AM DOING THIS IN HOPES THAT IT WILL BE HELPFUL TO SOMEONE.

FIRST I HAVE TO TELL YOU A FUNNY STORY.  SOME OF YOU WILL KNOW WHO I AM TALKING ABOUT.  THERE IS A CLASSIC STORY ABOUT A 20TH CENTURY EVANGELIST D. L. MOODY.  IT IS SAID THAT A WOMAN APPROACHED HIM AND SAID, "YOU KNOW, I REALLY DON'T LIKE HOW YOU APPROACH EVANGELISM." HUMBLY, MOODY RESPONDED, "I'M NOT VERY FOND OF IT EITHER.   HOW DO YOU DO IT?"...
