King David bible study 1 Chronicles chapters 11 through 22
Here is a bible study of the story of David’s kingship. He was very much blessed of God, and He sought and praised God like few others, having a really strong faith in Him that was often rewarded by God with many blessings, and did repent when he made mistakes. This study covers the start of his reign most of the way through the reign, with many of the different encounters, stories and more that happened during his reign as king of Israel.
In 1 Chronicles chapter 10 it tells how David became greater and greater and some of the mighty men under him
(1 Chronicles 11:1) Then all Israel gathered together to David at Hebron and said, "Behold, we are your bone and flesh.
(1 Chronicles 11:2) In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the LORD your God said to you, 'You shall be shepherd of my...

Kings of Israel and Judah bible study 2 Chronicles
This is a bible study to examine the kings of Israel and Judah from Solomon’s death to the period of Elijah the prophet approximately. This will give you a really good idea of the type of kings that Isreal and Judah had to deal with, although Israel’s were mainly evil, forsaking God to worship Baal and other idols and doing other evil deeds, and oppressing the people. Although Judah’s were largely better they too had evil kings from time to time. Often one of the nations, mostly Judah but some foreign nations would be used by God to punish the other, mostly Israel, for wrongdoing at that time and even beyond the time period of this bible study. This study is a continuation of the David and Solomon bible study and here is a link to that one if you want to look at and study that:
King Hezekiah Comparative bible study
Here is a study on the one really good king, Hezekiah, drawing on the accounts of it in 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles and the book of Isaiah. Hezekiah was one of the later kings of Judah, at the time when Israel fell to the Assyrians, given over for idolatry or even after but Hezekiah led a powerful revival in Judah and indeed he and his nation were delivered from those Assyrians. He had other miracles done in his life and Hezekiah loved God very much.
In 2 Kings chapter 18 Hezekiah takes his kingship and rids Judah of all the idols and serves God like nobody else in Judah and the Lord was with him. Israel is conquered by Assyria in his reign and also they start to vex the people of Judah
(2 Kings 18:1) In the third year of Hoshea son of Elah, king of Israel, Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign.
(2 Kings 18:2) He was twenty-five...
Final kings of Judah bible study
This bible study is a follow up to the study on King Hezekiah and goes to the Babylonian captivity. It is to show how one particularly vile and evil person (Manasseh, in this case), can ruin all the good of his predecessor did ,in this case Hezekiah who was one of the best if not the best king, and do even more damage. It also shows that God can and will declare a society totally reprobate and give it over to evil, if the evil done is grave enough to warrant that, as in this case sadly it was. There is one good king, Josiah, but he came too little, too late, and is only able to defer the judgment until after he was dead, even though he did repent and try to undo the damage that Manasseh had done. This story is a continuation of the story from Hezekiah and here is a link to Hezekiah’s bible study
Book of Ezra bible study
This book is post Babylonian exile and deals with the return of some of the Jews to Jerusalem rebuild the temple of God in Judah in Jerusalem. It covers the way Cyrus and others provide for it, but also covers the opposition the rebuilding project encounters while there from some people in Jerusalem who greatly slow the building of the temple so it takes many years to accomplish. The Persian ruler sees that it is very well provisioned for and sends out the initial expedition. This is a continuation of the scripture in 2 Chronicles in the last bible study of the final kings of Israel so I am providing a link to that study
Book of Nehemiah bible study
Here is the book of Nehemiah which like Ezra is a post exile story. This time the story is dealing with the fact that the walls and gates of Jerusalem are destroyed and Nehemiah is concerned with the welfare of the returned exiles there seeing that there are no walls to protect them. He asks the king of Persia to rebuild them and moved by the hand of God the King agrees with the request to do so. The walls and gates around Jerusalem were indeed built and also the word of God read before the people at the new temple, by Ezra. For the story of the rebuilding of the temple please go to this link which is a study of the book of Ezra
Book of Esther bible study
Here is a bible study on the female Esther and Modecai in the kingdom with Ahasuerus who was the king and also Haman’s evil plot to execute Mordecai and have all the Jews slaughtered because they refused to bow to Haman, who was promoted. However Haman’s evil plot is foiled in part by prayer and intercession made by all the Jews who were affected by the decree and then Haman ends up executed on the very same gallows he had planned to hang Mordecai on and the Jews themselves defend themselves successfully against the attacks of their enemies and get their revenge upon these enemies. Haman’s ten sons are also put to death while this is done. This book of Esther shows how responsive God is indeed to prayers in faith for protection and deliverance against enemies and other things, for that matter.
In chapter 1 of Esther king Ahasuerus’ then queen Vashti offends him by refusing to come to...
