Acts chapter 16 salvation teaching and tract

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-02

Acts 16 salvation teaching and tract

I am doing a salvation teaching and tract based on the verses in Acts chapter 16, which illustrate that God can use anything to bring people to Christ even an earthquake, and the apostles singing also witnessed to the other prisoners. The main point here was Paul’s jailor took note of the events, then asked to be saved and did all that was asked so that him and his family were all indeed saved. Here is the account from Acts chapter 16

(Acts 16:25)  About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,

(Acts 16:26)  and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.

(Acts 16:27)  When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his...

Acts chapter 3 salvation teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-02

                                    Acts chapter 3 salvation teaching

Here is the powerful story in Acts three and the first few verses of chapter 4 of the healing of the guy of the temple gate, and its aftermath which brought many thousands of people to the Lord in the early days of the church. It is a story of God’s mercy on one person through the apostles

In Acts chapter 3 tells of the miraculous healing of the man at the temple gate and also another message of salvation again encouraging people to repent and be baptized for refreshment

(Acts 3:1)  Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

(Acts 3:2)  And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple.

(Acts 3:3)  Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms.

John chapter 4 salvation teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-02

Salvation teaching featuring John chapter 4

This is a teaching based on the encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well, the other Samaritans after the dialog with her, and also the healing of a nobleman’s son. Of note the woman herself was a witness of Jesus as she told the others how Jesus told her all about her. Jesus also talks about the harvest being ready for taking- the harvest of souls, and both of those who sow and reap gather fruit to eternal life. Here are these verses in John chapter 4

(John 4:6)  Now Jacob's well was there. Therefore Jesus, having become tired from the journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

(John 4:7)  A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."

(John 4:8)  For His disciples had gone away into the city, that they might buy provisions.

(John 4:9)  Then the woman of Samaria said to...

John chapter 5 salvation teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-02

                                    John chapter 5 Salvation teaching

Here is the story of Jesus miraculous healing of a man by the pool of Bethesda and the reactions to it, especially the Jews very legalistic reaction because this healing occurred during the Sabbath day, and the Jews ignored the fact that the man was healed miraculously and only focused on the fact that he was carrying his bed on the Sabbath, which is forbidden to do(as any work is). Jesus responds though in a powerful way to the Jews’ accusations of Sabbath breaking giving people today good indicators of what must be done to be saved and have eternal life (believing in Jesus, of course)

(John 5:1)  After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

(John 5:2)  Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.

(John 5:3)  In these porches were lying a great...

Salvation gospel teaching featuring John chapter 6

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-03

Then it also asks if God is for us then who or what can be against us, in these verses towards the end of Romans chapter 8

(Romans 8:31)  What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

(Romans 8:32)  He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

(Romans 8:33)  Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.

(Romans 8:34)  Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

(Romans 8:35)  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

(Romans 8:36)  As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."

John chapter 8 salvation teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-03

                                    John chapter 8 salvation teaching

I am doing a salvation teaching on John 8 dealing with the incident with the adulterous woman, where Jesus does not let the Jews stone her- all of them who wanted left when He said that whoever was without sin let him cast the first stone, and then since there were no other accusers, Jesus let her go, warning her not to sin anymore. Then afterwards, Jesus says that He is the light of the world and that Jesus can set us free from anything at all. Jesus has a lot more powerful things to in the chapter say to the Jews as well, but they really cannot handle what Jesus has to say but it does get Him stoned in the end but He escapes. There is much good things for salvation

(John 8:1)  But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

(John 8:2)  And early in the morning, He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and having sat down, He began to teach...

Salvation gospel teaching featuring John chapter 9

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-03

                        John chapter 9 Salvation teaching

Here is a teaching on John chapter 9 with the healing of the blind man since birth on a Sabbath day, again provoking the Jews to anger even so much so to excommunicate the man from their fellowship. Then Jesus came to the person whom He healed and asked him if He believed in the Son of God and the one did worship Jesus, and Jesus tells the Pharisees that their sins remain.

(John 9:1)  And passing by, He saw a man blind from birth.

(John 9:2)  And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

(John 9:3)  Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but so that the works of God should be manifest in him.

(John 9:4)  I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.

(John 9:5)  While I am in the world, I am the light of...

Salvation teaching featuring John chapter 10

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-04

                                    Salvation teaching John chapter 10

Here is a salvation teaching featuring the complete John chapter ten. This features the powerful message of the shepherd and the sheep following the sheep. Jesus then says He is the good shepherd and His sheep follow Him, and that He will lay down His life for His sheep, which He indeed did on the cross at Cavalry. Later in the chapter, He would then say He and His Father are one, provoking the Jews to stone Him again, as they could not believe what He said.

(John 10:1)  "Most assuredly I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold through the door, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.

(John 10:2)  But he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

(John 10:3)  To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and he leads them out.

(John 10:4)...
