A little talk with Jesus, how it soothes the tired soul
How it helps me onward, when I faint beneath my load!
When my heart is crushed with sorrow, and my eyes with tears are dim,
There is nothing that can comfort me like a little talk with Him.

 I tell Him I am weary, he carries all my load for me 
the clouds all seem to vanish, his face is all I see
And He answers me so sweetly, in tender tones of love
I am coming soon to take you to My happy home above

 The way is long and weary to heavens pearly gates
But a little talk with Jesus makes it worth the wait 
The more I come to know Him, and His loving ways 
It helps me through those dark and those trying days  

So I'll try to be patient, it won't be very long    
casting all my cares on him, singing happy songs
There, down by the purest river  i shall forever be  
I shall sweetly talk with Jesus, and He will talk with me
