Room 1289

About

After touring around Canada in a couple of bands, I decided that I wanted to focus on writing and the engineering side of music. I have set up my own home studio and, while still developing my skills, I reached the point where I pleased to be able to start releasing my own songs. Room 1289 is my self-produced solo project.

The way it works on a technical level is the system accepts, protects,  and makes available for sale (as a download ) whatever file type you give it (like a CD quality wave if that is your original file type).

However, a 128 MP3 version is produced from that file and that is the quality people will hear in the "on demand" players and on the radio.

It works that way because otherwise your high-resolution file could be stolen with a stream recorder. So every song and video has two versions. A low res for demos and the original for sales. Upload a 128 MP3 bit and it will use the same file.

The file type you use as your original is your choice, however, the file size is an important consideration if you plan on staying in a free account. I can only give away 100 MB of space in the free accounts, as I am living on a tiny disability pension and we are hosted on an expensive high-quality server (I have to pay the bills from my pension).

So I allow people to pay their own way when it comes to large blocks of space, and throw in advertising and other perks (like full ecommerce with shopping cart) for good measure.

I have uploaded the WAV file, but I am happy to give you the MP3 file for free if you have bought the WAV and would prefer it (or both).  I uploaded the WAV file as it is the best sound quality.
