In the end what do you gain? Do you gain Christ. Look what Apostle Paul said in the book of Philippians: But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord :
1 John 2:4
He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
If you love me keep my Commandments. John 14:15 kjv Where modern biblical Christians seem to disparage/take offense is when they say we are being put back under the law whenever you quote these verses such as keeping the Commandments the law of Moses. Some scream legalism ! He wrote the law on our hearts and we live in faith. If the vine is Holy so should the branches be as written. Man is without excuse. We are not under the law and it is apparent grace can be abused and it does get abused especially once we have received the knowledge of the truth. Are we trying to please two masters. If we are in Christ are we really living for him? Apostle Paul gave warnings. God forbid! We must take our walk seriously. So in that regard I did some research because there is division among Christians. I'm talking not only counterfeit deceived Christians but true Christians do agree on certain biblical principles but on others they have their own views. Especially Church buildings where some say these things bricks and mortars are not in the New Testament. Unfortunately people like to have their ears tickled and doctrines of demons do exist. Even Jesus gave a strong warning about abiding in him. John 15:4-5 kjv Now I do believe once you are sealed you are sealed. You have not believed in vain. The temple must remain holy and we must have a full understanding of what that means. The way I believe a lot of Christians perhaps misunderstand scripture and the spiritual implication is by reducing the authority of Christ. Why would he tell people who profess to believe in him and to have followed him he never knew them on Judgment Day? Why can't he forgive them there and then and accept them into his kingdom? Did they really put their faith/trust in him? Christ said to enter in at the straight gate and use the door into the sheepfold. John 10
What does the Bible say about us being branches?
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
Is faith in the gospel biblical?
The closest that the Bible comes to offering an exact definition is Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” From this particular passage we see that the central feature of faith is confidence or trust. In the Bible, the object of faith is God and his promises. May 27, 2022
Hebrews 10:26-31
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace ? For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God .
Romans 6:1-2
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
In my aftern notes recently : Back to the Bible Canada did a sermon podcast entitled what God requires of us and I tackled it in Christian news . Since that time a number of thoughts/questions came to mind. As written in one Peter 4:8: 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Romans 12:1-2 & Hebrews 10:26-31 makes it crystal clear God forbid we don't abuse grace. Unhing it all: do as you please because everything is paid for and we are not under the law. GOD FORBID!
Soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
