"A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-10

WHEN WE FIRST ACCEPTED JESUS AS OUR SAVIOR, IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE FOR US TO KNOW EVERYTHING THAT FOLLOWING HIM WOULD TAKE.  NO ONE, HOWEVER, SHOULD BE FEARFUL OF MAKING A TOTAL COMMITMENT BECAUSE OF SOME IMAGINED PROBLEM THAT MAY NEVER COME TO PASS.  IF YOU HAVE ACCEPTED HIM, THEN GOD, OUR FATHER, HAS DRAWN YOU TO JESUS.  IT WASN'T YOUR IDEA BUT GOD'S. THIS SHOULD MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE SHOUTING BECAUSE THIS SHOWS YOU THAT GOD LOVES YOU VERY MUCH.  LOOK WHAT JESUS SAYS IN JOHN 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."  YOU ARE SECURE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND BECAUSE OF JESUS YOU CAN NOW GO DIRECTLY TO GOD WITH YOUR PRAYERS, PRAISE AND WORSHIP.  THIS IS THE FELLOWSHIP HE WANTS WITH YOU.

Grow In Grace

July 10th

Luke 11:38 - 'And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.'

LUKE 11:37-41

A sure sign of the error of legalism is misplaced priorities, as we see here with these Pharisees. It is not recorded in Scripture that the Pharisees marveled at the wonderful works of Jesus. They were too busy looking for something to criticize (Mark 3:2). But they marveled at Jesus not washing His hands. This is a classic example of straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel (Mt. 23:24).

Those who seek to earn righteousness through keeping the Law are consumed with 'doing,' while those who receive righteousness by faith are simply confessing what has...

Be Filled

July 9th

Luke 11:13 - 'If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?'

LUKE 11:13

The Holy Spirit is a gift (Acts 2:38). You cannot be good enough to earn the gift of the Holy Spirit, but you do have to ask. This is speaking of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, which is subsequent to the born-again experience.

The Holy Spirit resides in our spirits, and once He comes, He doesn't leave (John 14:16). There is an initial filling when the Holy Ghost first comes. However, His control and influence over our souls and body does fluctuate proportionally to how well we have our minds renewed...

"RECEIVE THE FULLNESS OF GOD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-09

SOME PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE THAT GOD COMES TO LIVES INSIDE OF US WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN. THEY WILL QUOTE THE VERSE IN 2ND CHRONICLES 6:18 WHICH SAYS "But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house   which I have built!"  WHAT THEY HAVE TO REALIZE IS THAT GOD IS A SPIRIT AND IN THAT SPIRIT OF GOD ARE THREE PERSONALITIES, GOD (THE FATHER), GOD THE SON (JESUS) AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT (THE COMFORTER),  STI LL ONLY ONE GOD.  (JOHN 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.)...

"WILL YOU BELIEVE?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-08

I KNOW I WRITE A LOT ABOUT BELIEVING BUT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD.  I AM GOING TO LIST A FEW VERSES FROM THE GOSPELS TO SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN.

MARK 9:23   Jesus said unto him, If thou canst  believe , all things are possible to him that believeth.

MARK 11:23   For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall  believe  that those things which he saith

Our Loving Father

July 8th

Luke 11:11 - 'If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?'

LUKE 11:11

The most loving Father in the world cannot compare to our heavenly Father and the love He has for us. And yet, many times, we find it easier to believe in the willingness of a father or mother or mate to help us than in the willingness of God to use His power on our behalf. Relatively few people really doubt God's ability, but rather, it is our doubt of His willingness to use His ability on our behalf that causes most people to do without. Jesus is assuring us that God's love, and His willingness to demonstrate...

"PRAYER POWER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Prayer Power

July 7th

Luke 11:1 - 'And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples'.'

LUKE 11:1

When you consider that Jesus was the greatest miracle worker who ever walked the earth and the greatest preacher who ever lived, it is amazing that His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray. Why didn't they ask Him to teach them how to work these miracles or how to preach and amaze the people with their doctrine?

It's because Jesus' prayer life was even more powerful than His miracles or His doctrine. Indeed, it was His union with the Father that gave Him His power to work...

"SALVATION, NOW AND FOREVER" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-07

I HAVE HEARD ALL MY LIFE, "ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED".  SOME MINISTERS SAID THAT IT WAS NOT TRUE WHILE OTHERS SAID THAT IT WAS.  WELL, WHEN I WAS NOT REALLY STUDYING THE BIBLE, I DID NOT KNOW.  I ALWAYS HOPED IT WAS TRUE BUT NO ONE COULD TELL ME FOR SURE.

FINALLY I GOT SMART AND WENT TO THE BIBLE AND STARTED STUDYING FOR MYSELF.  GUESS WHAT I FOUND......THE ANSWER, RIGHT IN GOD'S WORD.  READ IT FOR YOURSELF, "ROMANS 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of...

"USING MIRACLES IN MINISTRY" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-07-06

AT THE BEGINNING OF JESUS' MINISTRY, THE FIRST MIRACLES HE DID WAS THE CHANGING OF THE WATER TO WINE AT THE WEDDING IN CANA.  AFTER PEOPLE SAW THIS AND STARTED TELLING OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT IT, MANY PEOPLE STARTED FOLLOWING HIM TO SEE ALL THE MIRACLES HE WAS DOING AND MANY BELIEVED IN HIS NAME BECAUSE OF THE MIRACLES.

THE BIBLE SAYS IN JOHN 2:24 THAT "Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,"  HE DIDN'T WANT PEOPLE TRYING TO SPREAD HIS MESSAGE THAT REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HIS MESSAGE WAS.  THEY HAD SEEN THE MIRACLES AND BELIEVED BECAUSE OF THEM.  WE MUST BE SURE THAT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DRAWN TO US BY THE MIRACLES THAT JESUS DOES ON OUR BEHALF ARE ALSO REALLY TAUGHT THE WORD OF GOD.  I THINK THIS SHOWS THAT JESUS IS INTERESTED IN...

"SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Seek First The Kingdom

July 6th

Luke 10:40 - 'But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord dost thou not   care   that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.'

LUKE 10:40

There are only three instances in Scripture that give us information about Martha. From these accounts, we can see that Martha had a brother named Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead, and a sister named Mary. Martha had misplaced her priorities on this occasion and was corrected by Jesus. Later, at a supper for Jesus in...
