"FREED FROM THE LAW" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"FREED FROM THE LAW" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 16:16 "The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it."

LUKE 16:16-17

The Bible teaches that there are different dispensations or divinely ordered ways of God dealing with mankind throughout the ages. A dispensation is simply a period of time in which God deals with mankind in a certain way.

The Old Testament law was only a temporary dispensation and ruled from the giving of the law (Ex. 20) until the ministry of John the Baptist. When Christ came, He put an end to the law for righteousness (Rom. 10:4). Anyone who advocates the keeping of the law for the purpose of right standing with God is going back to an Old Testament system of law that has been abolished and is making the work of Christ void in his life.

The New Testament believer is under the dispensation of God's grace. We are not under...

"THE RIGHT RIGHTEOUSNESS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"THE RIGHT RIGHTEOUSNESS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 16:15 "And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God."

LUKE 16:14-15

Justification is not something to be earned, but a gift to be received. Seeking to earn salvation is the only sin that will prevent a person from being saved, because you cannot submit yourself to the righteousness of God which comes as a gift through faith as long as you are seeking to establish your own righteousness.

Most people are unaware that there are two kinds of righteousness. Only one type of righteousness is acceptable to God. There is our righteousness, which is our compliance with the requirements of the law. This is an imperfect righteousness because human nature is imperfect and incapable of fulfilling the law. And there is God's righteousness, which only...

"WHAT IS EVERLASTING LIFE?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

FOR YOU WHO ARE NOT BORN AGAIN, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT COULD EVER HAPPEN TO YOU.  THIS NOT ONLY EFFECTS YOUR FUTURE AND WHERE YOU WILL END UP IN ETERNITY BUT IT IS EFFECTING YOUR EVERY DAY LIFE.  EVERLASTING LIFE DOESN'T START WHEN WE LEAVE THIS EARTH.  I WAS GOING TO SAY WHEN WE DIE BUT WE NEVER DIE.  THESE OLD BODIES WILL PASS AWAY AND TURN BACK TO DUST BUT OUR SPIRITS WILL LIVE FOREVER EITHER IN HEAVEN OR HELL.  HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT HOW LONG ETERNITY IS.  I ALWAYS LIKED THAT VERSE IN THE SONG "AMAZING GRACE" WHERE IT SAYS "WHEN WE'VE BEEN THERE TEN THOUSAND YEARS, BRIGHT SHINING AS THE SUN, WE'VE NO LESS DAYS TO SING GOD'S PRAISE THEN WHEN WE FIRST BEGUN."  NO LESS DAYS AFTER SPENDING TEN THOUSAND YEARS.  OUR LITTLE MINDS CAN'T GRASP WHAT THIS IS REALLY SAYING.  I JUST KNOW IT IS A LONG TIME.

"BEING JUSTIFIED BY FAITH IN JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

THE DICTIONARY DEFINES "JUSTIFIED" AS "To demonstrate or prove to be just, right, or valid...To declare free of blame; absolve...To free (a human) of the guilt and penalty attached to grievous sin."  ACCORDING TO THE WORLD, I GUESS YOU COULD BE JUSTIFIED IN MANY WAYS.  HOWEVER, HOW DOES THE BIBLE SAY YOU ARE JUSTIFIED?

FIRST, IT SAYS WE ARE NOT JUSTIFIED BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW THE LAW, BEING THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, WAS GIVEN TO SHOW THE JEWS JUST HOW BAD THEY WERE AND THAT THEY NEEDED A SAVIOR.  (EXODUS 24:12 And the...

"BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 16:1 "And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods."

LUKE 16:1-18

The unjust steward was covetous. He had not been faithful to his master or to his master's debtors. He had wasted his master's goods on himself. When found out, his self-serving nature considered the options, and decided there had to be a change. He decided to use his lord's money to make friends so that when he was fired he would have someone to help him.

His master was apparently wealthy enough that he didn't take offense at the steward's discounting of the debts owed to him, but rather he commended the steward. He didn't commend his dishonest ways, but he was commending the fact that he had finally used his lord's money to plan for the future instead of wasting it on himself. Although the steward was...

"ALL THE WRONG REASONS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"ALL THE WRONG REASONS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 15:28 "And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him."

LUKE 15:25-28

If this elder son had considered his brother, he would have rejoiced at his return even as his father did. Rather, he was totally self-centered (that's pride) and became angry. This illustrates Proverbs 13:10; "only by pride cometh contention."

How can we esteem others better than ourselves when in truth we really think we are better than others? Some people are better athletes than others. Some are better businessmen than others. Some are better speakers than others, and so forth. First, we need to recognize that our accomplishments don't make us better than others. There is a difference between what we do and who we are.

Better performance does not make a better person. A person's character can be severely wanting even though his performance is good. A...

"BEING IN A GANG FOR JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"BEING IN A GANG FOR JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU ARE WALKING DOWN THE STREET AT NIGHT AND SEE A GANG OF YOUNG KIDS COMING IN YOUR DIRECTION?  IT IS A SHAME BUT WE TEND TO WANT TO CROSS THE STREET TO GET OUT OF THEIR WAY.  WHY IS THIS?  I THINK IT IS BECAUSE ALL WE SEE ON TV IS HOW THE GANGS ARE ROAMING THE STREETS DOING BAD THINGS.

WHEN I WAS GROWING UP THERE WERE A LOT OF GANGS.

"BEING PERSECUTED FOR JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"BEING PERSECUTED FOR JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN PERSECUTED BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE FOR JESUS?  IF YOU HAVE, GOOD...REJOICE...BE GLAD...PRAY THAT IT WILL CONTINUE.  DO YOU THINK I AM NUTS FOR SAYING ALL THIS?  LOOK WHAT JESUS SAYS IN MATTHEW 5:10 "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."  NOW YOU SEE WHY I CAN SAY THIS.

IF YOU ARE NOT BEING PERSECUTED, MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE A LITTLE MORE OUTGOING IN SHARING THE LOVE OF JESUS.  SURE, SOME PEOPLE WILL CALL YOU A "JESUS FREAK" BUT WHO CARES.  THEY CAN CALL ME THAT ALL THEY WANT TO BECAUSE IT'S TRUE.  IT JUST GIVES ME MORE FUEL FOR THE FIRE.  NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG, YOU CAN'T JUST GO OUT AND BE OBNOXIOUS WITH THE WORD OF GOD.  YOU HAVE TO SHOW LOVE IN ALL YOU DO AND IT IS THAT LOVE THAT BRINGS PEOPLE TO JESUS.  JUST LET THEM KNOW HOW YOU STAND AND DON'T COMPROMISE....

"THE FATHER'S LOVE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"THE FATHER'S LOVE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 15:20 "And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."

For this boy's father to have seen him "a great way off" would imply that the Father had been eagerly awaiting his son's return. Certainly, in the spiritual application of this parable, our Heavenly Father is longing to cleanse and receive the sinner, if he will just repent and come to Him for forgiveness.

Jesus was using this parable to rebuke the Pharisees for their harsh, self-righteous, unforgiving attitude towards sinners. The older brother in this parable was symbolic of the Pharisees. Like this brother, the Pharisees had not lived an outward life of rebellion and they thought that others who didn't measure up to their standards were surely hated by God. But, "God so loved the world" and "Christ...

"BREAKING ONE OF GOD'S COMMANDMENTS IS A SIN" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

THE REASON I AM WRITING THIS MESSAGE IS BECAUSE I FEEL VERY STRONGLY THAT GOD WANTED ME TO WRITE IT AND THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT NEEDS TO HEAR IT.  ANOTHER REASON IS THAT I COULD NOT HAVE COME UP WITH THESE VERSES AND IDEAS ON MY OWN.

I WANT TO TALK ABOUT A SUBJECT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE AVOID FOR FEAR OF BEING CALLED A HOMOPHOBIC.  I HAVE HEARD THIS WORD, "HOMOPHOBIC" MENTIONED MANY TIMES AND TRUTHFULLY, I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANT. WELL, YOU KNOW ME, I LOOKED IT UP.  NOW THIS FIRST DEFINITION IS ONE THAT IS NOT ME. "Fear, hatred, or mistrust of lesbians
