"ABOUT GENEALOGIES" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2021-01-01

About Genealogies

Luke 3:23, 'And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.'

MATTHEW 1:1-17; LUKE 3:23-38

Even the genealogies are inspired by God and profitable (2 Tim. 3:16). Matthew traces Jesus' genealogy through Joseph back to Solomon. However, there was a curse placed on one of Solomon's sons named Jechonias (Jer. 22:24-30), which Jesus avoided by being born of a virgin.

Luke mentions Jesus as being the supposed son of Joseph who was the son of Heli. It was actually Mary who was the daughter of Heli. This was done in other Old Testament instances (Num. 27:1-11; 36:12 with Ruth 4:6). Mary's genealogy was also from David but through Nathan, a...

NOW WE CAN GO DIRECTLY TO GOD IN PRAYER

DID YOU KNOW THAT BEFORE JESUS, WE WERE NOT INCLUDED IN GOD'S COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM?  IT WAS FOR THE JEWS AND WE WERE ALL LOST, BEING GENTILES.  HOWEVER, JESUS DID IT ALL FOR US. JEWS AND GENTILES WERE RECONCILED THROUGH JESUS.  I USUALLY USE THE KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE IN MY MESSAGES BUT IN READING EPHESIANS IN THE NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION, I LIKED IT AND THOUGHT I WOULD USE IT WITH THIS MESSAGE.  I AM GOING TO QUOTE EPHESIANS 2:11-18 BELOW.

"Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human...

"GOD STILL PERFORMS MIRACLES" BY ANDREW WOMMECK

God Still Performs MiRACLES

Mark 16:20 'And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.'

The Lord confirmed the preaching of His Word with miracles. If Jesus and the first century Christians needed the Word confirmed with the miraculous (Heb. 2:4), then we do too. There is no scripture that says these miraculous signs have passed away.

Some people have interpreted 'that which is perfect' in 1 Corinthians 13:10, as being the complete Bible. This has led them to believe that the gifts of the Spirit have ceased. Although God's Word is perfect (Ps. 19:7), it is not the 'perfect thing' that is referred to here. 1 Corinthians 13:8 does say that tongues shall cease, but it will not...

"USE YOUR DELEGATED AUTHORITY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Use Your Delegated Authority

Mark 16:18 'They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.'

This either speaks literally of supernatural protection if we pick up a snake, or symbolically of protection in our fight against the devil. Since the other four signs in this list are literal, it is most probable that this means physically taking up snakes.

The apostle Paul experienced this supernatural protection from a viper when he was shipwrecked on the island of Melita (Acts 28:3-5). However, this is the only recorded example of this type of protection in the New Testament.

There is no record of the disciples picking up snakes just to prove they were...

"ALL SIN HAS BEEN FORGIVEN" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

ALL SIN HAS BEEN FORGIVEN

IN 1ST JOHN 2:2, IT SAYS THAT JESUS IS THE PROPITIATION FOR ALL SIN, (And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.)  IF YOU ARE SAVED, YOUR SINS ARE NOT BEING IMPUTED TO YOU BECAUSE YOUR SINS HAVE BEEN PAID FOR.  SEE WHAT IT SAYS IN 2ND CORINTHIANS 5:18-19 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

"SOMETIMES IT TAKES A MIRACLE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

SOMETIMES IT TAKES A MIRACLE

THE BEGINNING OF JESUS' MIRACLES WAS THE CHANGING OF THE WATER INTO WINE AT THE WEDDING IN CANA. AFTER PEOPLE SAW THIS, THEY STARTED TELLING OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT IT.  MANY PEOPLE STARTED FOLLOWING HIM TO SEE ALL THE MIRACLES HE WAS DOING AND MANY BELIEVED IN HIS NAME BECAUSE OF THE MIRACLES.

THE BIBLE SAYS IN JOHN 2:24 THAT "Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,"  HE DIDN'T WANT PEOPLE TRYING TO SPREAD HIS MESSAGE THAT REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HIS MESSAGE WAS.  THEY HAD SEEN THE MIRACLES AND BELIEVED BECAUSE OF...

Water Baptism Is An Act Of Faith

Mark 16:16 'He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.'

This scripture has led many to believe that water baptism is a part of salvation and that the born-again experience cannot be a reality without it.

This same kind of thinking would make seeing Jesus a prerequisite for salvation, based on John 6:40.

It is faith in the redemptive work of Christ that produces salvation - not our actions. However, James writes that faith without works is dead (Jas. 2:20).

Faith alone saves, but saving faith is never alone; it must be acted upon.

This is what Mark is referring to when he speaks of baptism.

Water baptism is a command of Jesus and is the initial...

"YOU HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

YOU HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME

HAVE YOU REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT HOW BLESSED YOU ARE?  SOME MIGHT SAY "HOW CAN YOU SAY I AM BLESSED WHEN THE PANDEMIC HAS COST ME MY JOB AND I CAR CAN BARELY PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE?"  JUST THINK OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES, A CAR OR GOOD HEALTH.  DO YOU EVER THANK GOD FOR THE THINGS YOU DO HAVE?

WE NEED TO STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW LITTLE WE HAVE AND START THINKING ABOUT WAYS TO HELP OTHERS. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ABOUT GIVING MONEY, HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH,...

"HOW TO BAPTIZE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-12-28

How To Baptize

Matthew 28:19 'Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:'

In the same way that this commission is to every believer, not just to ministers, the command to baptize is also for every believer. It is proper for any believer to administer the ordinance of water baptism.

Jesus commands us to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, yet there is no recorded instance where the believers did so. Instead, the instances of baptism that are recorded in the book of Acts, show people being baptized in the name of Jesus only.

Because of this noticeable difference, doctrines have arisen that teach there is no Trinity, and that unless water baptism is...

"HAVE YOU ASKED?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-12-27

HAVE YOU ASKED?

DO YOU SOMETIMES FEEL DOWN AND OUT AND EVERYTHING YOU TRY TO DO JUST IS NOT WORKING OUT? YOU TRY TO MAKE YOUR MONEY STRETCH TO PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE AND TO PAY ALL THE BILLS BUT IT SEEMS TO NEVER GO FAR ENOUGH.  WELL, IF THIS IS YOU AND YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING YOU KNOW TO DO, I HAVE THE ANSWER FOR YOU.  JUST ASK.  IT SOUNDS SIMPLE, AND IT IS IF YOU JUST HAVE FAITH AND BELIEVE WHAT THE LORD TELLS US IN HIS WORD.  IT'S SAD THAT WE TRY EVERYTHING FIRST AND THEN ASK THE LORD FOR HELP WHEN THAT IS THE FIRST THING WE SHOULD HAVE DONE.

PROVERBS 3:5-6 TELLS US EXACTLY WHAT WE HAVE TO DO WHERE IT SAYS "Trust in the...
