"JESUS THE SERVANT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-09-21

Jesus The Servant

Mark 12:29 'And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord':

MARK 12:28-30

Jesus repeatedly made reference to His deity for which the Jews had sought to kill Him, and yet He quotes from Deuteronomy 6:4, that 'The Lord our God is one Lord.' There are not two or three Gods and yet Jesus claimed to be God just like God the Father. This union is a great mystery that defies human understanding but can be accepted and believed.

Jesus in His pre-existent state was in the form of God. 'In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.' Jesus is God manifested in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16). However, Jesus did not demand or cling to...

JESUS IS GOD

JESUS WAS NOT A MAN SENT FROM GOD,  HE WAS GOD.  IN JOHN 1:1 WHEN IT SAYS "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."  WELL, AS YOU KNOW JESUS IS THE "WORD".  IT SAYS IN THE 14 VERSE OF JOHN 1 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us".  SO THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT JESUS IS GOD.

HIS HUMANITY TRULY MADE HIM ONE OF US.  HE WAS TEMPTED THE SAME WAY WE ARE TEMPTED AND HE HAD THE SAME PRESSURES ON HIM THAT WE HAVE.  (HEBREWS 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.)  THIS SHOULD MAKE YOU FEEL CLOSER TO HIM TO KNOW THAT HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH.

"KNOWING JESUS THROUGH HIS WORD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

KNOWING JESUS THROUGH HIS WORD

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THE WHOLE BIBLE IS TRUE?  A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T, EVEN SOME CHRISTIANS.  I OFTEN WONDERED HOW THEY COULD PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO BELIEVE AND THINK THEY ARE SAVED.  I ONLY SAY THIS BECAUSE OF WHAT PAUL SAYS TO TIMOTHY IN 2ND TIMOTHY 3:16-17 WHERE HE SAYS "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."  THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH ME TRYING TO TEACH A MESSAGE LIKE THIS ONE IS THAT THEY CAN CHOOSE NOT TO BELIEVE THESE TWO VERSES. THERE IS NOT A LOT ANYONE CAN DO BUT TO PRAY FOR THEM.  IF ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD HIMSELF, HOW CAN ANYONE NOT...

"THE TWO GREATEST COMMANDS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

The Two Greatest Commands

Matthew 22:36 'Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.'

MATTHEW 22:34-46

Jesus revealed that all of the Old Testament laws were designed to instruct us how to love God and love others. Therefore, the two commands that dealt directly with loving God and others (Lev. 19:18 and Dt. 6:5) were the most important.

The religious leaders had become so obsessed with keeping every minor detail of the law that they had lost sight of its ultimate purpose. They neither...

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE STRESSED" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE STRESSED

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN REALLY STRESSED?  I KNOW YOU HAVE, BUT HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT HOW STRESSED JESUS' DISCIPLES MUST HAVE BEEN? THEY WATCH JESUS BEING ARRESTED, BEATEN AND CRUCIFIED.  ALL OF THEIR HOPES AND DREAMS WERE ROOTED IN HIM AND THEN HE WAS DEAD AND SEEMINGLY DEFEATED.  NOW DO YOU THINK THEY WERE STRESSED?

THE CONFUSION, HURT AND PAIN FROM THAT ALONE WAS PROBABLY UNBEARABLE BUT THEN CAME REMEMBERING ALL THAT HAD HAPPENED.  I AM SURE THEY WERE THINKING, "WE HAVE MADE SUCH SACRIFICES, LEAVING OUR FAMILIES AND BUSINESSES AND RISKING IT ALL ON THE BELIEF THAT JESUS WAS THE MESSIAH.  MIGHT IT...

"MARRIAGE IS FOR THIS LIFE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Marriage Is For This Life

Luke 20:33-34 'Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:'

LUKE 20:27-40

It is very doubtful that the situation that the Sadducees were relating ever took place. It is more probable that they were stating a hypothetical case to complicate the understanding of the resurrection and thereby discredit it.

If you accept their basic supposition (marriage continues in heaven), then their reasoning was correct. It would not be possible to administer marriage in heaven with multiple mates as their story described. Their reasoning wasn't flawed, but rather the 'facts' that...

WE MUST KNOW GOD'S WORD TO BE EFFECTIVE

DO YOU REMEMBER THE STORY IN LUKE 5 ABOUT JESUS TELLING PETER TO GO OUT INTO THE DEEP WATER AND DROP HIS NETS?  JESUS HAD SEEN THE TWO SHIPS STANDING BY LAKE GENNESARET AND THE FISHERMEN WERE OUT OF THE SHIPS WASHING THEIR NETS. JESUS ENTERED PETER'S SHIP AND ASK HIM TO TAKE IT OUT A LITTLE FROM THE BANK SO HE COULD TEACH THE MULTITUDE.  WHEN HE HAD FINISHED TEACHING IS WHEN HE TOLD PETER TO GO INTO THE DEEP WATER AND DROP HIS NETS.  PETER COMPLAINED THAT THEY HAD BEEN OUT ALL NIGHT AND HADN'T CAUGHT ANYTHING. HOWEVER, PETER WAS OBEDIENT AND DID WHAT JESUS SAID.  HE CAUGHT SO MANY FISH THAT THEIR NETS BROKE AND THEY HAD TO CALL THE OTHER SHIP TO COME AND HELP. THEY FILLED BOTH SHIPS SO MUCH THAT THEY STARTED TO SINK.

Heaven

Mark 12:25 'For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.'

The word heaven comes from the Greek word meaning 'the sky; heaven as the abode of God'; by implication, 'happiness; power; an eternity.'

Paul mentioned being caught up into 'the third heaven' in 2 Corinthians 12:2. Since 'the third heaven' exists, there must also be a first and second heaven. The first is probably the atmospheric heaven, the second, the abode of supernatural angelic beings, and the third, the place where God dwells.

God now dwells in the hearts of His people, but He also sits on His throne in heaven. The Lord's commitment to dwell in us and never leave us or forsake us, must be...

"THE RESURRECTION POWER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

The Resurrection Power

Matthew 22:23 'The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,'

The Greek word used here for resurrection means 'a standing or rising up.' The resurrection is a major theme of New Testament teaching. Out of the 13 sermons in the book of Acts, 11 stress or simply mention the resurrection.

Man consists of three parts - a spirit, a soul, and a body (1 Th. 5:23). The body is mortal while the spirit and soul are immortal. At death, man's body goes through the decomposition process and returns to its original elements.

At the resurrection, man's departed soul and spirit are called forth from either heaven or hell. The material elements of the body are raised up, reassembled, and...

LOST REVERENCE FOR GOD AND THE BIBLE

DO YOU FEEL STRANGE BEING CALLED GOD'S CHILD?  DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE JOINT HEIRS WITH JESUS?  THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT WE ARE BOTH OF THESE.  LET'S JUST READ WHAT IT SAYS IN ROMANS 8:14-17 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."  THE WORD "ABBA" WAS A WORD USED BY THE ROMANS MEANING "FATHER" BUT WE COULD USE IT AS...
