She hears her baby crying down the hallway
And she runs what seems like miles to dry her tears
Then she recalls what almost happened on that dark
and lonely day
When she nearly gave in to the voice of fear…
Her parents closed the door and left her standing on
the porch
They were embarrassed by the news she came to tell
Now all alone and so afraid, she didn’t know which way to turn
For weeks she lived within a private Hell…

that is lying in her arms…
And every doubt she ever had just melts away

There was a building on the edge of town
her friends had talked about
There was a doctor there and for a price
they said he’d help her out
So one rainy day she parked and watched the
women come and go
She prayed and tried to overcome her fear…
And though all alone she heard the words
“This is not a good idea”
And suddenly she wondered why she was even here
So through her tears she gently slipped that old,
gray car in gear
She drove away, and she never looked back…

Her mama blinked and it was graduation day…
