She hears her baby crying down the hallway     

And she runs what seems like miles to dry her tears                  

Then she recalls what almost happened on that dark

When she nearly gave in to the voice of fear…                   

Her parents closed the door and left her standing on

the porch                    

They were embarrassed by the news she came to tell             

Now all alone and so afraid, she didn’t know which way to turn

For weeks she lived within a private Hell…

So one rainy day she parked and watched the

“This is not a good idea”

So through her tears she gently slipped that old,

gray car in gear

She drove away, and she never looked back…
