HELL

Christian Teachings

do you believe that the father will burn all sinners for time unending?

I believe in hell but the Bible tells me that it is not eternal, but just for a short time.

HELL

Christian Teachings

Thank you for your quick and insightful response. I agree with you all the way on this, yet strangly enough, every Christian I know does not except this truth. I was born and raised Pentecostal and sat through to many fire and brimstone services to count. That mind set left me afraid of God and the whole salvation plan, I thought if this is true, then it is far better not to have been born. How sad it must be to be plagued by such a concept. To serve only out of fear. I thank God that he is a merciful, long suffering and forgiving. The key to wisdom is this - constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question and by questioning we arrive at the truth.

HELL

Christian Teachings

Revelation 20:9 says, And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. This verse describes the actual event of hell fire and is NOT symbolic, and like John 3:16, it declares that the wicked will be devoured and perish, yet the very next verse appears to totally contradict which says, And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Note that this verse has symbolism and says that the devil and the beast (beast is symbolic) will be tormented forever in the lake of fire. But Ezekiel chapter 28 reveals a totally different picture. While initially discussing the ancient king of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:12), Gods prophet then looks behind the scenes and identifies Lucifer himself, the anointed cherub (verse 14), who inhabited Eden the garden of God (verse 13), and who was originally perfect in [his] ways from the day [he] was created, until iniquity was found in [him] (verse 15) Moving on to Satans final fate, God declares, I bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ASHES upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold you You have become a horror, and shall be no more forever

If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed. (Albert Einstein)

3 Little girls and a visit?

Christian Teachings

David,up until very recently I was a sabbatarian, thanks to Kens site and many answered questions by him, I am no longer under law but under grace in what Christ did to relinquish me of my personal sins.I had a lot trouble with that one. I kept the seventh day Sabbath for over twenty years. What a revelation. I am still studying and still learning. Keep searching the scriptures!

3 Little girls and a visit?

Christian Teachings

Hello David (Peace be with you)I think that you may have misunderstood what I was saying. Yes, some that were in the flesh were taken right to heaven, but that is the exception not the rule. The scripture verses that I posted clearly say that the dead sleep. Did you take the time to read them? And how can you say that I dont believe in eternal life? For my hope is in the resurrection of all that sleep.Acts 24:14So worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.John 5:28Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forththose who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. The bible clearly teaches that the righteous dead will be raised on the last day. And, NO, I am not confused nor do I believe in purgatory. My stand is on the word of GOD. I feel insulted by your words! My efforts here are to discuss not to debate with you.I believe what the scriptures say, and they say clearly that the dead sleep and shall be raised to eternal life.It says, that we will not all sleep but those that are alive at his coming shall be changed, then caught up to meet with the Lord in the air and so shall we be forever with the Lord, Thats eternal life.1 Corinthians 15: 51- 53Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.May GODS greatest blessings be upon you and yours.

Here are some of the scripture verses that tells me that the dead sleep and have no knowledge of anything.Psalms 115:17The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.Eccles 9:5For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sunPsalms 6:5For in death there is no remembrance of you: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?Isaiah 38For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot celebrate you: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.Psalm 146His breath goes forth, he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.Psalms 13 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;1 Corinthians 15:51Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.1 Thessalonians 4:14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.John 11:12These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleeps, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spoke of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.Matthew 27:50Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 3And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.2 Samuel 7:12And when thy days be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with thy fathers.

3 Little girls and a visit?

Christian Teachings

I have been following this conversation with much interest and was moved to point out a fact that you both seem to have over looked. The bible tells me that Mary indeed did give birth to the Christ and this is recognized as a miracle by all, yet she was only a human and a vassal that God decided to use to introduce his son to the world. Mary died and she sleeps awaiting the resurrection just like the rest of the dead. So then, who was it that appeared to the three girls of Fatima? In my humble the Fatima apparitions are a deception, not of GOD.2 Corinthians 11:13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.I say again, let no one think me a fool. There for, an angel of GOD would not deceive anyone into believing that they were one of the dead. The Bible tells us that the dead sleep.

They say the angel Gabriel gave the gold tablets to Joseph smith, which is where they got there book of Mormon from. Mohammed claimed that Gabriel Gave him the Koran. If you are referring to Fatima, Well, I believe that some formally Heavenly being is making appearances and deceiving millions. Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Separation of Church and State

Religion/Philosophy

I dont belong to any particular Christian denomination, yet I believe as a spirit filled Christian I am a member of all those who make up the bride of Christ. The New Testament teaches that we are to respect the powers that govern us and that they are in power only by Gods per-mission. One should not dictate to the other. That will come with Christs second coming when he sets up his kingdom on the recreated earth after he baptizes it with fire, the first time was with water and the second time will be with fire.John 3:5-7Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, you must be born again.Luke 3:16-17John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I comes, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.Acts 2:3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance
