Gospel of Mark bible study chapters 1 through 8
This is the account of the life of Jesus this time by (John) Mark, hence the name of the gospel Mark to prevent confusion with the gospel of John. This too is a powerful account filled with the miracles and such that Jesus did during His lifetime. It is the shortest of all the gospels at 16 chapters and I am planning to present it in two longish parts of 8 chapters each.
In chapter 1 of Mark, the story pretty much goes into the story of the gospel, with Jesus baptized by John, then goes about preaching repentance and healing where He goes from place to place
(Mark 1:1) The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
(Mark 1:2) As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, "Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way,
(Mark 1:3) the voice of one...

Comparative bible study- the Passion of Jesus gospels of Matthew and Mark
I am led to do a comparative bible study of the Passion of Jesus, that is the period of time from His anointing by Mary, the last supper through His crucifixion, death and burial, in a desire to strongly show as ONLY God’s word can, what all Jesus went through for your sake and my sake to restore our relationship with God the Father, and Jesus, and that He did indeed pay the price that we now do not have to anymore for our sins, and enables us to have eternal life with the Father and Jesus in Heaven, then in the New Jerusalem, as opposed to the pit of Hell and the lake of fire. I am so very thankful for the love, grace and mercy of both God the Father and Jesus for this sacrifice and inexpressible gift of eternal life. This study itself will consist of Matthew chapters 26 and 27, and Mark chapters 14 and 15, and then the plan is to do...

Comparative bible study Jesus’ beginning
Here is a comparative study of the beginning of Jesus, His birth through His baptism, and in some cases the opening of His ministry. Little is said of Jesus’ childhood and years up to the beginning of His true ministry in the bible itself, however I am including the first chapters of the gospels Mark and John, as well as the first three chapters of Matthew which gives some of His early years, and Luke, by far the most detailed of the four gospels. I am starting with Matthew and going in order of the gospels, not presenting any comments between the chapters of any one gospel.
Here are the first three chapters of Matthew which give a bit of a birth narrative continuing up to the baptism by John:
(Matthew 1:1) The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
(Matthew 1:2) Abraham was the father of Isaac, and...
Jesus to Jerusalem a comparative bible study
Here is a comparative bible study starting where Jesus says “see we are going to Jerusalem” in the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, which all have rather similar accounts of this journey and the first events after, but there are differences, too. This is where Jesus heads to Jerusalem for the final time to fulfill His big purpose, which is to give His life as a ransom for ANY who call Him Lord. I am also including John chapters 11 and 12 in this bible study for contrast which occur at approximately the same period. You will see the different things included and the different order, as well. It makes for good discussion in bible study to talk about the similarities and the differences in the accounts in the gospels.
Here is the account of the journey to Jerusalem in the gospel of Matthew
(Matthew 20:18) "See,...
