Salvation teaching featuring Matthew 28 and Mark 16

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-12

Salvation teaching featuring Matthew 28 and Mark 16

Here is a salvation teaching featuring Matthew chapter 28 and Mark 16 as well as the rest of the great commission and also other salvation bible verses to help people see what Jesus has indeed done for them and to encourage them as well as others to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, for He went through all that He did because of His great love for us.

Here is the account of the rising of Jesus and the encounters as related in Matthew 28 including the commission statement at the very end of the chapter.

(Matthew 28:1)  But after the Sabbath, at the dawning toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

(Matthew 28:2)  And behold, a great earthquake occurred; for an angel of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

Salvation teaching featuring Acts 12 and 13

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-12

Acts chapters 12 and 13 Salvation teaching

Here is a teaching comprising chapters 12 and 13 of the book of Acts with other salvation scriptures. It does show how the church endures and even thrives against opposition and persecution, from first Herod and then a sorcerer. This is all dealt with too, which encourages further growth for God will deal with those who oppose His divine purposes. Also at the end of Acts 13 Paul speaks of mainly going to the Gentiles with the gospel which sparks opposition from some of the jealous Jews.

(Acts 12:1)  And at that time Herod the king put forth his hands to harm some from the church.

(Acts 12:2)  And he put to death James the brother of John with the sword.

(Acts 12:3)  And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded further to arrest Peter also (and then were the Days of Unleavened Bread),

(Acts 12:4)  whom also seizing, he...

Salvation teaching featuring Acts 16 and 17

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-13

Salvation teaching featuring Acts chapters 16 and 17

Here is a teaching featuring Acts chapters 16 and 17 which chronicle Paul’s continuing missionary journeys and what is now Greece. People were saved and baptized and many accepted the gospel but also there were challenges, persecution, and miracles which all show God’s goodness and faith. The story of the earthquake in Acts 16 is remarkable for it not only helped free Paul it also led the jailor and his family to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, and be saved. I will include salvation scriptures too in this study.

(Acts 16:1)  Now he arrived at Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple was there named Timothy, the son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was Greek,

(Acts 16:2)  who had a good testimony by the brothers in Lystra and Iconium.

(Acts 16:3)  Paul desired this Timothy to go forth with him, and taking...

Salvation teaching featuring Acts chapters 18 through 20

Here is a salvation teaching featuring the latter episodes of Paul’s missionary journey featuring him persecuted but again vowing to go to the Gentiles and yet others still go to the Jews. There are various teachings and even some miracles in these three chapters, including the handkerchiefs and also one being raised from the dead. Churches were strengthened too by teaching, as well as more believers added. I will as usual add a salvation teaching at the end of things.

(Acts 18:1)  Now after these things, having departed from Athens, Paul came to Corinth.

(Acts 18:2)  And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, having recently come from Italy with Priscilla his wife (because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to depart from Rome); he came to them,

(Acts 18:3)  and because he was of the same trade, he remained with them and worked,...

Salvation teaching featuring Acts chapters 26 through 28

Here is a salvation teaching featuring the last three chapters of Acts which feature Paul’s powerful testimony of Agrippa in self defense, his sea journey which would eventually end up in Rome and what happens along the way, God preserving life and doing other miracles which no doubt resulted in many being saved. Paul then is given free reign in Rome to preach though once again some of the Jews refuse to hear, resulting in once again Paul focusing on the Gentiles. There are those of both who do hear and are saved, however. I will then follow this up with a salvation teaching with many varied scriptures.

(Acts 26:1)  Then Agrippa said to Paul, "It is permitted for you to speak in behalf of yourself." So Paul, having extended his hand, spoke in his own defense:

(Acts 26:2)  I have considered myself fortunate, King Agrippa, being able to speak in my own defense...

Sermon on the mount teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-14

Sermon on the Mount special teaching

I am led to do a special teaching featuring the three chapters in Matthew that comprise the Sermon on the Mount, namely chapters 5, 6, and 7 because they have such powerful life application to use even nowadays that it would be remiss to not have them together as their own teaching all to themselves.

Matthew chapter 5 starts off with saying blessed are the humble and other valuable traits, to reconcile ourselves with those who we might offend and even to be at peace with our enemies, and to love them. We also are the salt and the light of the world

(Matthew 5:1)  And seeing the crowds, He went up into the mountain, and after He had sat down, His disciples approached Him.

(Matthew 5:2)  And opening His mouth, He began to teach them, saying:

(Matthew 5:3)  "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

John chapters 13 through 17 teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-15

Special teaching John chapters 13 through 17

I am doing a special teaching featuring the chapters of John’s 13 through 17 which feature Jesus washing the disciples feet as an example to them to Jesus’ pray for them in chapter 17. John chapters 14 through 16 feature some very powerful teachings by Jesus for His disciples and related discussions and conversation with His disciples during which He makes many promises to them and through the bible to us today. These are designed to make one’s walk stronger and better with Jesus, for He left us with them in love.

John chapter 13 is the place where He indeed washed His disciples’ feet as an example to love one another and then He makes that as His commandment that we love one another. Also in the chapter Judas goes out to betray Jesus and Jesus foretells of Peter’s denials of Jesus which will come much later in the book.

(John 13:1)  Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus...
