Salvation teaching featuring John chapters 13 through 17

I am doing a salvation teaching featuring the chapters of John’s 13 through 17 which feature Jesus washing the disciples feet as an example to them to Jesus’ pray for them in chapter 17, and also including a good variety of salvation scriptures found throughout the New Testament . John chapters 14 through 16 feature some very powerful teachings by Jesus for His disciples and related discussions and conversation with His disciples during which He makes many promises to them and through the bible to us today. These are designed to make one’s walk stronger and better with Jesus, for He left us with them in love.

John chapter 13 is the place where He indeed washed His disciples’ feet as an example to love one another and then He makes that as His commandment that we love one another. Also in the chapter Judas goes out to betray Jesus and Jesus foretells of Peter’s denials of Jesus...

Salvation teaching featuring Jesus parables

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-15

                        Salvation teaching featuring Jesus parables

Here are a number of parables spoken by Jesus that have to do with salvation and even forgiveness, and then I am going to give many scriptures about salvation to round out the teaching.

I am first starting this off with the parable of the sower told in Matthew chapter 13 which illustrates witnessing to the lost in its own ways, planting the seeds of the word of God in their lives and the effects of such.

(Matthew 13:3)  And he told them many things in parables, saying: "A sower went out to sow.

(Matthew 13:4)  And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.

(Matthew 13:5)  Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil,

(Matthew 13:6)  but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no...

Salvation teaching featuring Matthew chapters 26 through 28

Here is a teaching featuring the last three chapters of Matthew, which describe all that Jesus went through for all of us, including you and me, the sacrifice He paid on the cross for all mankind’s sins, and also His rising from the grave as well.

In Matthew 26 the last supper through Jesus’ arrest and the early hearings are described.

(Matthew 26:1)  Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, that He said to His disciples,

(Matthew 26:2)  You know that after two days the Passover takes place, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified."

(Matthew 26:3)  Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were assembled into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

(Matthew 26:4)  and plotted to take Jesus by guile and kill Him.

(Matthew 26:5)  But...

Salvation teaching featuring Mark chapters 14 through 16

Here is a salvation teaching featuring the final three chapters of the gospel of Mark which illustrate all the events of the Passion of Jesus, which is what He willingly and lovingly went through for the purpose of the salvation of mankind, including being arrested, tried and then dying on the cross for all of us, then being raised again from the dead by God. I am also going to include a salvation teaching with many verses from the New Testament on salvation.

In Mark chapter 14 is the last supper and arrest of Jesus and all that happens then, including Peter’s denials and Jesus betrayal.

(Mark 14:1)  Now after two days it was the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might get hold of Him by guile, and how they might kill Him.

(Mark 14:2)  But they said, "Not during the feast, lest there be...

Salvation teaching featuring Luke chapters 22 through 24

Here is a salvation teaching this time featuring the passion of Christ which is in the gospel of Luke. These are the stories of the last supper, Jesus arrest and trials followed by His crucifixion and death to pay for the sins of all mankind then God raised Jesus from the dead and relates some of Jesus’ encounters before He ascended to heaven to be with the Father.

Luke 22 describes the last supper, Jesus arrest, Peter’s denials and the early trials and such that Jesus went through

(Luke 22:1)  Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover.

(Luke 22:2)  And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might kill Him, for they feared the people.

(Luke 22:3)  Then Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve.

(Luke 22:4)  And he went off and spoke with the...

Salvation teaching featuring John chapters 18 through 21

Here is a salvation teaching featuring the last 4 chapters of John, taking the story up with the account of Jesus’ arrest by the soldiers and then through His crucifixion and death to be the sacrifice for all of mankind’s sins and then two chapters of stories of His raising and several events that happened after His raising, including the doubting Thomas story, and also the story where Jesus has a miraculous fish manifestation and Jesus asking Peter if he loved Jesus more than anyone.

John chapter 18 covers Jesus arrest to where Jesus has His hearing with Pilate and all the dialog in them.

(John 18:1)  After saying these things, Jesus went out with His disciples across the winter stream Kidron, where there was a garden, into which He and His disciples entered.

(John 18:2)  Now Judas, the one betraying Him, also knew the place, because Jesus often gathered...

Salvation bible study featuring the gospel of John

Here is a strong collection of salvation related verses all taken from the gospel of John which teach varied aspects about salvation but ALL state in various ways how we need Jesus for salvation and eternal life- often stated by Jesus Himself as He taught and witnessed to the Jews in various encounters throughout His ministry time, before He died for all of our sins.

In chapter 1 of John the first fourteen verses state Jesus- even John the Baptist’s purpose on the earth very well so I lead off this study with them

(John 1:1)  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

(John 1:2)  He was in the beginning with God.

(John 1:3)  All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing came to be which has come to be.

(John 1:4)  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Passion of Christ Salvation teaching number 1

By James J Dougherty, 2013-08-19

Passion salvation teaching number 1 Matthew, Mark, John

I am now doing a series of salvation teachings featuring various combinations of the final chapters of the Gospels. This one, for example will contain Matthew chapter 26, Mark chapter 15 and John chapters 20 and 21. These cover the whole story of the Passion of Christ but told from differing perspectives of the writers of the gospels, for contrast, but it is the purpose of these studies to drive home the message of what Jesus  willingly did for us so we could obtain forgiveness of sins from God, and salvation as a result of Jesus’ death on the cross at Cavalry.

In Matthew 26 the last supper through Jesus’ arrest and the early hearings are described.

(Matthew 26:1)  Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, that He said to His disciples,

(Matthew 26:2)  You know that after two days the Passover takes place, and the Son of Man will be...
