Simple twelve verse salvation tract

By James J Dougherty, 2013-10-16

                                                Simple twelve verse salvation tract

Here is a good and simple salvation tract which will present the message of salvation by twelve bible verses

Here is the message that all have fallen short of God’s glory but Jesus did die for us to redeem us from our sins

(Romans 3:23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(Romans 3:24)  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

(Romans 3:25)  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

The good news is that while we were not righteous Jesus did die for us

(Romans 5:8)  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

This verse states the consequences of our sin...

Luke chapter 15 Salvation teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-10-17

                                                Luke 15 salvation teaching

I am doing this teaching based on Luke 15 which contains 3 powerful salvation related parables which show the value of salvation and repentance in the kingdom of God. I will then follow this up with a salvation tract and a prayer for those who want to receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior

First up is the parable of the lost sheep which shows how much God will pursue the lost and even backslidden and how heaven rejoices greatly when one sinner comes to salvation by repenting and believing in Jesus

(Luke 15:1)  Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

(Luke 15:2)  And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

(Luke 15:3)  And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

(Luke 15:4)  What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of...

Matthew chapter 18 salvation teaching

By James J Dougherty, 2013-10-17

Matthew chapter 18 Salvation and forgiveness teaching

Here is Matthew chapter 18 which contains messages of salvation offense, and forgiveness, praying for one another, and the need to forgive one another, to be forgiven by the Heavenly Father. It is a powerful chapter with powerful lessons.

(Matthew 18:1)  At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

(Matthew 18:2)  And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

(Matthew 18:3)  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

(Matthew 18:4)  Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

(Matthew 18:5)  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Salvation teaching featuring 1 John

By James J Dougherty, 2013-10-18

                                    Salvation teaching featuring 1 John

Here is a salvation teaching featuring various verses which point to Jesus and how He came to eliminate sin and all.

Here in 1 John 1 that God is light and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and that we will be forgiven and cleanses when we confess our sins to God

(1 John 1:5)  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

(1 John 1:6)  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

(1 John 1:7)  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

(1 John 1:8)  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

(1 John 1:9)  If we confess our sins,...

Salvation teaching featuring the epistles of Peter

By James J Dougherty, 2013-10-18

Salvation tract featuring epistles of Peter

Here are some good verses about Jesus in the epistles of Peter, to challenge and encourage us, reflecting on why God did indeed send Jesus to die for us.

These two passages in 1 Peter 2 speaks of the beliers being a royal priesthood and other benefits for God loved us, enough to send Jesus to a tree so that by His stripes we were indeed healed

(1 Peter 2:3)  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

(1 Peter 2:4)  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

(1 Peter 2:5)  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

(1 Peter 2:6)  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth...

prayer requests on calling and motivation giftings

By James J Dougherty, 2013-10-19

Prayer requests on giftings serving versus teaching and my calling with the Lord.
I have enjoyed serving- be it at a soup kitchen, washing dishes, carrying things and more for people, but
now I am questioning whether I am trully anointed to do things or I am serving more from my own
personal strength. I also wonder if teaching is more the motiovational gifting where I am anointed, likely
coupled with persuasion. I do confess that I make mistakes and don't do things as well as I could do
while serving (missing dirt, spots on dishes, those errors make me wonder if I am doing this more on my
own strength than not). I also wonder whether I am anointed with teaching as when I have taught the few
times in person and have posted notes on facebook I have almost always been pleasantly surprised by the
positive response and the lack of negative/correcting response. Those two factors make me wonder if
teaching/persuasion is something that I might be strongly...
