WHEN YOU ARE PRAYING AND ASKING GOD FOR SOMETHING, DO YOU THANK HIM WHEN HE GIVES IT TO YOU OR ARE YOU LIKE THE NINE LEPERS THAT JESUS HEALED IN LUKE 17:12-16.  LOOK WHAT IT SAYS, "And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. DON'T EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF PRAYER.  AND, WHEN YOU ASK SOMEONE TO PRAY FOR YOU, BE CAREFUL THAT IT IS NOT SOMEONE THAT IS PRAYING IN UNBELIEF.  THAT MIGHT SOUND STRANGE BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT SAY THEY WILL PRAY FOR YOU THAT ARE NOT EVEN BORN AGAIN. THEY THINK IT SOUNDS GOOD, OR LOOKS GOOD ON FACEBOOK, BUT WHICH GOD ARE THEY PRAYING TO.  YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS.  MATTHEW 6:24 SAYS "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN CHURCH WHEN THE PREACHER CALLED ON SOMEONE IN THE CONGREGATION TO PRAY?  HAS THE PRAYER EVER BEEN SO LONG THAT YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD NEVER END?  I KNOW I HAVE.  THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT PRAY MEANINGFUL PRAYERS AND THEN THERE ARE THE OTHER ONES AND IF YOU LISTEN TO THEIR PRAYERS YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY ARE NOT REALLY PRAYING TO GOD BUT PRAYING SO THE CONGREGATION WILL THINK THEY ARE VERY RELIGIOUS.  

 

I WILL GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.  IF SOMEONE IS PRAYING AND SAYS "I JUST ASK GOD THAT HE WILL PUT A SPECIAL BLESSING ON US TODAY".  SOUND GOOD?  WELL, IF YOU ARE PRAYING TO GOD, WHY WOULD YOU SAY "I JUST ASK GOD TO PUT A SPECIAL BLESSING ON US TODAY" INSTEAD OF SAYING "GOD,...

The Power of Prayer


Prayer is the breath of the soul. It is essential to the Christian experience. Although much can be found about prayer in the Bible there are three passages that help to put prayer into perspective for me:

Hebrews 10:19   Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us... Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith...

 We can have confidence as we approach God in prayer. We can enter the very throne room of grace without fear or shame because of what Jesus has done. If you are like me with a sinful past and are still making mistakes, this is an important concept.

WHO DO YOU PRAY TO?  SOME PEOPLE PRAY TO MARY, THE MOTHER OF JESUS.
