"TEACHING THE TRUE WORD OF GOD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

TEACHING THE TRUE WORD OF GOD

DO YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR PASTOR? A LOT OF CHRISTIANS HAVE NO IDEA IF THEIR PASTOR IS PREACHING GOD'S WORD. THEY NEVER GO HOME AND CHECK OUT WHAT WAS PREACHED AND WITH SOME CHRISTIANS, IT WOULDN'T MATTER BECAUSE THEY NEVER STUDY THE WORD. THEY THINK THAT GIVING AN HOUR OUT OF THE 168 HOURS THAT ARE IN A WEEK IS ENOUGH TO GIVE GOD. ARE THEY REALLY BORN AGAIN? DO YOU KNOW YOUR PASTOR? WHAT ARE THEIR FRUITS? DO THEY SHOW JESUS IN THEIR EVERYDAY LIVES? MATTHEW 7:20 SAYS "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

"THE COST OF LIVING FOR CHRIST" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

The Cost Of Living For Christ

Luke 9:58 'And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.'

MATTHEW 8:18-22; LUKE 9:51-62

This verse has often been used to support the misconception that Jesus and His disciples lived in poverty. However, in this instance, the fact that Jesus had nowhere to lay His head was because of persecution. The Samaritans, because of a religious prejudice, had just refused Him hospitality and a place to stay as He journeyed to Jerusalem. Persecution is part of the cost of living a Christian life. Jesus was communicating to this man that not having a place to stay at times was part of that cost.

There are many forms of persecution....

LOOKING AT BOTH TRUTHS AND LIES

WHEN WE THINK OF WHAT TRUTH IS WE USUALLY THINK OF IT AS BEING THE OPPOSITE OF A LIE. THAT IS TRUE AND WE KNOW THAT THE DEVIL IS THE FATHER OF LIES. JESUS TOLD SOME OF THE JEWS THIS IN JOHN 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. SINCE WE KNOW THE ORIGIN OF LIES, LET'S LOOK AT TRUTH.

Grow In Grace

Luke 9:55 'But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.'

LUKE 9:54-56

Jesus was constantly being accused of breaking the law of Moses. He taught differently than the law of Moses (Mt. 5:21-48), and now He rebukes His disciples for desiring to do what an Old Testament prophet did with God's blessing and power. However, Jesus didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfill it.

Jesus came not to destroy men's lives but to save them (Jn. 3:16; 10:10).

'God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them' (2 Cor. 5:19). Jesus was just in doing this because He bore our sins (Isa. 53:4-6) and the accompanying wrath of God (Mt. 27:46;...

"WATCHING HOW WE PRAY" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

WATCHING HOW WE PRAY

WHEN YOU ARE PRAYING AND ASKING GOD FOR SOMETHING, DO YOU THANK HIM WHEN HE ANSWERS YOUR PRAYER OR ARE YOU LIKE THE NINE LEPERS THAT JESUS HEALED IN LUKE 17:12-16. LOOK WHAT IT SAYS, "And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell...

Life Of God

John 10:10 'The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.'

JOHN 10:7-10

The Greek word translated 'life' here is 'zoe' and it means life in the absolute sense or life as God has it. Everyone who is breathing has life in the sense of physical existence, but only those who receive Jesus can experience life as God intended it to be. Jesus came to not only save us from the torment of eternal hell, but also to give us this 'zoe' or God-kind of life in abundance. The life of God is not awaiting us in heaven, but is presently possessed by every born-again person in his spirit. We can release this 'zoe' life and enjoy it now by...

"HEARING GOD'S VOICE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Hearing God's Voice

John 10:2-3 'But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.'

JOHN 10:1-21

This verse promises all who are God's sheep that they not only can, but that they do, hear His voice. Many born-again people doubt the truth of this statement based on their experience. They don't think they can hear God's voice. However, the Word of God is true - not our experience.

The harmony between what this verse says and what our experiences say is that it is our new born-again spirit that hears God's voice. Although God has spoken and still does speak in an audible voice at times, very few people...

PLANTING SEEDS

DO YOU TRY TO BE GOOD, GO TO CHURCH, TITHES, SERVE ON CHURCH COMMITTEES, GIVE TO THE POOR, READ YOUR BIBLE, AND PRAY? THESE ARE THINGS THAT MOST OF US WOULD SAY YES TO, BUT WHY DO WE DO ALL OF THESE THINGS? IS IT TO TRY TO BE MORE RIGHTEOUS SO GOD WILL LOVE US MORE?

LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. WE READ IN ISAIAH 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and...

OUR COMMITMENT TO SERVE JESUS

IF YOU HAVE NEVER READ THE STORIES ABOUT PETER AND CORNELIUS OR PAUL AND THE BELIEVING JEWS, YOU SHOULD. THIS SHOWS HOW COMMITTED THEY WERE TO JESUS AND HOW JESUS USED THEM. WE ALL NEED TO BE THIS COMMITTED.

FIRST, YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT PETER WAS A JEW AND DID NOT ASSOCIATE WITH ANY OTHER NATIONALITY. IN FACT, IT WAS UNLAWFUL FOR HIM TO DO SO. SEE WHAT PETER TOLD CORNELIUS AND HIS FAMILY WHEN HE STARTED MINISTERING TO...

"JESUS FOUND HIM" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Jesus Found Him

John 9:35 'Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?'

It is one thing to seek God; it is quite another thing to have God seek you. Jesus sought this man out when others had forsaken him. The acceptance of Jesus is worth more than everything this world has to offer This is what enables the believer to endure and even leap for joy amidst persecution.

When our sufferings in Christ abound, then the consolation of Christ abounds much more. Notice that this man's parents, who knew the truth, but refused to share it for fear of persecution, did not have Jesus seeking them out (Jn. 9:22). They chose the company of the hypocritical scribes and Pharisees, which is exactly...
